**I received a copy of Devil's Honor from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review**

Devil's Honor by Megan Crane will definitely be a hit when it releases in November and I can't wait for the second book to come out.

Merritt Brousard has come home to Lagrange running from her boyfriend/co-worker that has suddenly shown his controlling side. Her father has also recent passed away and she needs to clean out their home and settle the estate. She grew up here knowing that when she finished with school, she was going as far as she could and never return. But five years ago, she loved Joseph "Greeley" Shaw who is a patched member of the Devil's Keepers MC who own several businesses in town plus a few of the town council as well. But she turned him down that summer when he asked her to become his Old Lady and ran to start law school. Old boyfriends never stay away and neither does Greeley when he finds out she's come home. There is some surprising information about her father who was the unofficial club doctor later on in the book plus an even more troubling issue that will bring on the second book in the series.

I loved her BFF, Lanie, a stripper/manger of Petit Joe's and when Merritt decides that she could possibly stay in Lagrange, maybe she really did mean to come home after all. When the president of the MC makes a decision that could cause more than friction in the club that involves both Merritt and Greeley, can they overcome it and be more than lovers?

I highly recommend Devil's Honor and truly enjoyed reading it.

4 MC loving stars!

Hero: 4.5 stars!! Oh Greeley. I want a Greeley. First of all, his name?! Wonderful. I loved how he loved her so much, and staked his claim and quit fighting what they have fairly quickly. He fought for both of them… and it was lovely to read!

Heroine: 4.5 stars!! Oh Merritt. (okay, her name I didn’t love so much). She is such a confused woman. I was rooting for her the entire time. It wasn’t even that she needed to get her head out of her ass, it’s that she was raised with certain expectations and she doesn’t know how to reconcile everything. I don’t always love heroines; they usually annoy me. Merritt, however, was awesome.

Plot: 4 stars!! I really enjoyed this story. Also, the writing was fantastic which is always a nice bonus. The story doesn’t span that long; almost 40% of the book was for ONE day. I think that’s a little much, but luckily I never got bored. There is actually more going on than you think at first, and by the end of the book you are wondering “Well what now?!” (this is about the backstory, not the couple). The overall plot is great, heartbreaking, and a little freaky. I wasn’t expecting the backstory to continue on which was a surprise I was okay with.

Sex Scenes: 3.5-4 stars! The scenes were hot and fit the characters and plot. Sometimes I wanted a little more, but that is because I’m a pervert.

What I loved: The story; the main characters. I love that the couples story was wrapped up without tooooo many loose ends, but the backstory doesn’t seem to be over.

What I disliked: To an extent I would have liked a little more background on the H especially. We get a short overview, but I think it helps to understand his past to get where he is now. I just wanted it to dig a little deeper. I also think since almost 40% of the book was focused on one day, it would have been nice to shorten that up a bit. It was starting to drag just a little.

Will I read this author again? Yes, definitely. This series has hooked me, so I can’t wait to read on!

In short: A great MC story that isn’t full of fluff! Wonderful characters!

Spoiler shit:
OW:
SpoilerThe H gets a (bad) blowjob by a girl and then an hour later after he sees the h for the first time in five years, they are about to get it on. The H did not know that the h was back in town when he got the blowjob.

OM:
SpoilerNothing happens with om but he’s the one after her. He’s a little sick and twisted.

Condoms:
SpoilerI do not remember any condoms being used.

A fast, sexy read, just like the bikes the members of the club (don't you dare call it a "gang") like to ride. I devoured this book in just a few hours, and I'm so glad it's part of a series because I can't wait for the next one!

Ugh..I honestly don't know how I do it.

I question my ability to read third person because I really really do not like third person POV.
Anywho...

Merritt the girl who is desperately trying to get out of her small town. She is also the daughter to the town doctor who also happens to be the doctor for the local motorcycle club too. But getting away may not be the answer she needed after all, because going home when she least expects it is the last thing she wants to do.

Greeley the sergeant at arms for the Devils Keepers motorcycle club, is in torment and living day by day. After losing the girl he loves five years ago when she walked away from him made him into who he is today. When she blows back into town he goes to see why she has returned when he told her to never return. Can these two make amends or will one destroy the other?

I definitely had high hopes for this book, I mean come on a MC book with a possessive ass male, yes sign me up! I just didn't like the third person POV.

It's clear that this author is crawling up my list of favorite romance authors, both as Megan Crane and Caitlin Crews. This is an MC romance, and while normally I'm not a fan of this genre the writing, pacing and hot hot hot chemistry kept me hooked. I really enjoyed the way the heroine was not a cowering miss waiting for the big bad biker to save her. I also liked that even though there were some facets of the hero's lifestyle that I didn't like, his treatment of the heroine eventually won me over. He was very alpha, but not too much to be a controlling prick. At least not too much for me, his protective, commanding tendencies may be too much for some people.

I picked up this book while bracing myself for the misogyny, while there were moments that made me a tad bit uncomfortable (especially one scene in the beginning), overall the book was pretty politically correct. The heroine especially, an Ivy League-educated lawyer, was someone I enjoyed reading about.

The plot had some satisfying, thrilling moments and the mystery surrounding the club has me intrigued to pick up the next book. I liked the secondary characters that were introduced in this book: especially Lanie, the heroine's wilder best friend. I hope she has a HEA in her future because she was very entertaining.

I recommend this book if you enjoyed some parts of Sons of Anarchy, but not how they treated their old ladies.

Just couldn't get past the first few bits establishing the main male character as "Alpha". I assume the really misogynistic comments were part of a redemption arc, but I gave up.

TW: DV? Heroine was in an abusive relationship. Attempted assault.

Reading this makes me sentimental for the good old days when I first forayed into the adult romance genre and all I consumed was MC romance. I loved Megan Crane's post-apocalyptic romance series (and gushed about it on the blog), so when I saw this book on sale and featured a biker hero, I immediately one-clicked.

Greeley kinda reminds me of Tyr (The Edge book 1 hero) and I love him and his rough ways. I love how he didn't want to want Merritt, especially after how their affair ended in the past, but he also couldn't stay away from her. Their chemistry is so intense! I was completely engrossed in the scenes whenever they were together.

Book 2 next!

Megan Crane is just amazing. I loved the first book she wrote in the "Deacons of Bourbon Street" series and I'm so happy to see her come back to not only bikers, but Louisiana in a brand. new. series.

Greeley is a big, bad biker with the Devil's Keepers, a motorcycle club in the tiny town of Lagrange, Louisiana. Merritt is the girl who got away. He warned her not to come back, but she's in trouble and he's still the only person she can trust.

Crane does such an amazing job with plot & setting & character development, that it's hard to know where to start. First of all, Louisiana is so present its practically its own character in the book. Its steamy and seedy, more than a little bit dirty, and yet, its also home. The plot is super fast paced and while it does have some suspenseful elements, its definitely a story that's focused on Merritt & Greeley and not side plots. But, oh, the characters. Greeley is the consummate bad boy and you can't help but love him for it. He's rough and tough and incredibly hot. Merritt though, isn't a waif waiting on some guy to step in and fix everything for her. She's in trouble, sure, but she's also not a pushover.

Granted, this book won't appeal to everyone, and you'll understand that right from the first page. Greeley is an alpha male with a giant, capital 'A' and some of the exchanges between him and Merritt are a bit heavy handed. Still, I loved this and as always, can't wait to see what Crane comes out with next.

This book has so much potential. And it checks off so many of my favorites: alpha, MC, good girl, deep South. I just want to know why the author has to describe every. little. thing. in such detail?! I lost the forest for all the trees in this one.
