Devil's Honor by Megan Crane

4.0

It's clear that this author is crawling up my list of favorite romance authors, both as Megan Crane and Caitlin Crews. This is an MC romance, and while normally I'm not a fan of this genre the writing, pacing and hot hot hot chemistry kept me hooked. I really enjoyed the way the heroine was not a cowering miss waiting for the big bad biker to save her. I also liked that even though there were some facets of the hero's lifestyle that I didn't like, his treatment of the heroine eventually won me over. He was very alpha, but not too much to be a controlling prick. At least not too much for me, his protective, commanding tendencies may be too much for some people.

I picked up this book while bracing myself for the misogyny, while there were moments that made me a tad bit uncomfortable (especially one scene in the beginning), overall the book was pretty politically correct. The heroine especially, an Ivy League-educated lawyer, was someone I enjoyed reading about.

The plot had some satisfying, thrilling moments and the mystery surrounding the club has me intrigued to pick up the next book. I liked the secondary characters that were introduced in this book: especially Lanie, the heroine's wilder best friend. I hope she has a HEA in her future because she was very entertaining.

I recommend this book if you enjoyed some parts of Sons of Anarchy, but not how they treated their old ladies.
