Good:

I really enjoyed the plot of this story. Travelling with a circus is the perfect way to travel under cover. She acts a bit weird?? Well that's because she's part of a circus! The characters in the circus was fun and interesting. I liked Zeetha and Agatha's relationship. There was a mutual respect between the to.

I think my favorite part was taking tropes and turning them on their head. When Zeetha and Agatha were training, Agatha listened to her Kole (aka Zeetha) when she said she wasn't ready to train with the sword. Many other series (including my favorite) would have the protagonist argue about how they were ready for the sword when in reality they were not. Another example is Agatha NOT running out to Gilgamesh when she saw him and he thought she was dead.

Needs Improvement: Way way way too plot twisty. When she was at Sturmhalten castle I had difficulties following whom was backstabbing whom.

I'm getting annoyed with all the romantic interests. It's only be ~3 months since she left Beetleburg (with no romance to speak of there) and all of a sudden there are 3 romantic interests. All 3 instantly felt drawn to her.. I don't know if it's because she's a Heterodyne or if it's because shes one of the few female sparks, but it's getting old.

I loved the Girl Genius webcomic, but the convoluted plot was tricky to keep up with over years— a more compact book form is good for the story, and the Foglios write pretty good prose!

This book covers the part of the webcomic where I gave up in frustration, yelling "it's just too ridiculously complicated to know who's trying to do what to which and when!!!!"

This lasted all of a day before I carried on reading. The book also required me to concentrate a bit to keep track of characters' current allegiances. And by "characters'", I mean "Tarvek's". Although the novel fleshed a few things out, added a few more entertaining bits of dialogue, it wasn't enough to make me like him, although I tried.

However. I will always love Dimo, Ognian and Maxim, for all time. As always - the whole thing, even if the rest of it was a dissertation on j-cloth thickness, would be worth reading purely for any section that has a Jagermonster in it, in my opinion.

Adventure! Romance! Giant holograms in revealing dresses!

Like the first Girl Genius novelization, [b:Agatha H and the Airship City|9874196|Agatha H and the Airship City (Girl Genius)|Phil Foglio|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1291998058s/9874196.jpg|14765901], this book is a page for page novelization of the graphic novel. Like it's predecessor, it's not as good for a novel as the comic is for a web comic, but that's a incredibly high bar. The novelization gives insight into the characters and plot that just don't work as well in a graphic novel. For fans of Girl Genius, this novel is a must-read supplement.

This book is my favorite book this year. I loved the action, the drama, the romance and the characters. It was also fun to listen to it during school during my library hour. I remember most of this book even though it has taken me a month to read this. I really wish that there was a third one because this book ended on a cliffhanger. I would have started screaming at my poor little iPod if it wasn't 11;30 at night when I finished this book.

Will finish soon

Perhaps in printed form, the footnotes wouldn't be so bothersome. But in audiobook form, I find them annoying.
