This was a creative take on 'end of the world' / cannibal stuff. Anyone could be a canni, and then flip back to their normal self, so that makes murdering them difficult. So this story definitely get points for being original.
The characters were interesting to say the least. One of them got on my nerves so bad, but maybe that was what the author was going for. Another character has Tourettes which made for some comedic moments in the book. Another character refused to wear clothes because he chose not to be part of society.
Overall, the story was decent, but I just couldn't get into the flow of it. There were many characters, and the author did it correctly by introducing them to us slowly and methodically. With that being said, the ones I didn't care for, I had a hard time keeping track of their storyline and just not wanting to keep up with them.
It's still a good story. A solid 4 star book

Enjoyable novel right upto the ending - felt cliched and just a little silly. Great writing though and an interesting premise.

Everything you could want from a horror novel. I loved everything about this novel. Except the ending. I think I was hoping for the book to end with the tunnels.....and a part two. This would make an excellent horror movie. It has horror, fear, and also brings up important points about humanity, in general. Its a great horror story, I highly recommend this.
The eerie, uncomfortable feelings and intense, individual cahracters really make this a can't-put-down book. People, inexplicably, turn from humans to cannibals. Some can return to their human state, some do not. Those that do not, hunt flesh....
Trust turns into no trust turns into terror, turns into mass hysteria and horror, and no one can really be safe....or trusted. Can you trust anyone?? Can anyone trust you?? This book is mainly set in downtown Las Vegas, Fremont Street, where I bought this and was staying for several days.
I recommend this. Its a great story.

I loved this post apocalyptic story. A unique and different zombie tale this is a fantastic twist on what has become a somewhat flooded genre in the past few years. Definitely a standout for me. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the arc.

I enjoyed reading this book from the beginning. I have been burnt out on zombies for a while so Canni was a refreshing new take on cannibal killers. By the end the book was losing it's charm. I was not a huge fan on how Rob treated Cash and I was a little disappointed by the end, though I guess the cure makes some sense. There were a few moments and characters I felt the book could have done without but all-in-all this was a fun concept.

So I keep getting these intense flashes from a tv show: a female doctor in an underground facility, the female doctor on a motorcycle with her brother, the janitor from the underground facility. And I can never remember what tv show these images are from. That's because they're not from a tv show, they're from this book.
I read this book nearly a year ago, and yet my memory insists I watched a limited run show. I think that says something about O'Connor's ability to write descriptively enough that your brain can picture it completely. That doesn't happen with every book.

What an great book. This was one of those unique zombie books that I couldn't put down. Held my attention from the start with plenty of suspense, twists, turns and made me laugh a time or two. Highly recommend!
