I didn't finish this one in time for the book club discussion about it, but decided that I wasn't going to let it beat me. This is the third Liane Moriarty book that we've chosen the past few years, and I'm not a huge fan. However, this book did have some redeeming qualities. While the writing and storyline are not necessarily my preferred style, the book did make me think. I found myself seeing myself in Alice's "10-years-later character" in several instances, and I could very easily understand how in ten short years, a person can go from madly in love to taking their spouse for granted or even the divorce that was on the horizon for her and Nick. It is easy to see how having children and the pressures of daily life can quickly fade the sizzle, and I found myself looking for ways to focus, in my own life, on the things that I love and appreciate about my husband. I don't want what happened to Alice to happen to me!

I started this book for some light reading and had trouble getting into the plot and characters in the beginning. I even set it aside and read another book before picking it up for a last chance... then the storyline and characters started to come together in a wonderfully created world, where time has created change. The novel allows a look back into how the drip, drip of life can change ourselves and the relationships with those around us dramatically over time.
The ending was not what I was expecting and instead of feeling disappointed, I appreciated that the characters had a more realistic resolution than current trends encourage.

Liane Moriarty's witty, insightful writing made this a delight to read. It's chick lit but deep enough I have thought about it at least weekly since I read it. It touched some real nerves - I identified with Alice. We have a lot in common - both married about 10 years, both with 3 kids, both with lots of balls in the air.
Alice hits her head in the gym only to discover she has forgotten the last 10 years. She thinks she is madly in love with her husband and expecting her first child. Really she has three kids and is in the middle of a messy divorce.
I loved seeing what happened when Alice forgot the anger and hurt in her relationships and how everyone around her reacted to that and everyone was better because of it.
Rated PG-13 for language. Ok, maybe R - there are several F words in this book. But read it anyway. It was amazing.

Just super enjoyable and sweet.
3.5⭐️ overall liked the book but could’ve been cut by 100 pages or so/ feel like Elisabeth and Frannie’s perspective could be removed. The ending also gave me whiplash and was rushed.
An enjoyable, surprisingly fast-paced read focusing on the bonds of family, friendship, and marriage. As it asks the question "Am I where I thought I would be 10 years ago," it walks through the story from 3 different perspectives: the third-person narrator that mostly explores Alice's (main character's) thoughts; the journal/psychology project entries of Alice's older sister, Elizabeth; and the letters of Alice's surrogate grandmother to her long-dead fiance, Phil. While it may sound a little odd, these varying perspectives actually fill in certain plot holes interestly, and by the end work as another piece in the puzzle of the way memory works in the human mind.
I enjoyed listening to the audiobook version which has a pleasant narrator who gave characters their individual voices. Although I enjoyed the mystery of the first half of the book, it seemed to move too slowly in the second half with scenes that didn't provide enough interest. Alice was interesting to learn about both pre and post injury, but by the end of the story I was not as invested in her which was disappointing.
