الرواية تبدي ببطئ وحسب ترجمة جمال الجلاصي جانت تحتاج تركيز حتى تعرف طريقة الحوار، بعدها ترتفع وتيرة الاحداث
الرواية من نوع متعدد الشخصيات وكل جابتر يتكلم عن شخصية معينة ... الامها ومعاناتها عدا جابترات الرئيس طبعا
نكدر نكول الرواية من النوع اللي ضد الحكم الدكتاتوري بس بيها شي اكثر من هذا، الرواية تراويك شكد الانسان ممكن يصير ظالم وشكد راح يكلف هذا الشي الناس الضعفاء، الخداع والكذب والتدمير النفسي والخيانة ... كلها تنتشر بهيج مجتمعات

“El Señor Presidente” presenta una narrativa formidable, aunque su naturaleza imponente tiende hacia lo tedioso, sin alcanzar la emoción. Aunque comprendo la aclamación y el amor por sus profundos temas y exploración socio-política, no logró cautivarme como lo ha hecho con otros. La escritura es innegablemente grandiosa, pero el encanto que a menudo acompaña a las obras celebradas parecía de alguna manera esquivo. Se reconoce su significado literario, pero la conexión personal con su narrativa no logró dejar una impresión duradera.

Read this for a specific challenge and it ended up being an okay book.
The President was an interesting choice for me. Not that it was a classic or anything, because I do dive into those once in a blue moon. In a weird way, it didn't feel like a classic to me. I get that it was written a long time ago but the story line felt so familiar to me. Probably because so many YA books are kind of set like this.
In it, you will read about an assassination attempt... but then the bad guy falls for the daughter "unexpectedly". Ha, yeah right. Then this kind of reminded me of Romeo and Juliet.. because the romance was a bit on the forbidden side. Add a dash of tragedy and it's basically a play/movie.
Besides all of that goodness, a LOT happens in this book. A lot more than I expected but it made the book just a bit more interesting. Whether it was the prostitution for women.. or ya know torturing babies for shits and giggles. It was a lot for my poor eyes to take in. I am still shocked about some of the things that happened. My eyes were definitely bugging out of my head with this book.. and I was probably getting judged by everyone that saw me.
Overall, it was an eye opener and I sort of couldn't put it down. Glad I took a chance on this random ass book.

La traducción de la primera y segunda parte fue horrible, si no continuaba con la parte 3, no calificaría esto con un 2/5. Me gusta este tipo de historia, desafortunadamente, el traductor fracasó miserablemente en dar vida a la historia.
part 3 sangat menolong karena it was more decent (the translation) walaupun nggak bagus juga. huft. kecewa, buku pertama di 2023;( mungkin terjemahannya akan terbaca biasa aja kalo aku gangerti bahasa spanyol, tapi karena aku paham dan aku bisa nangkep konteks ketika temanteman natives ku ngobrol pake bahasa spanyol, buku ini jadi kayak... ya gak hidup. otakku auto membayangkan bahasa aslinya ketika membaca, dan buku ini jadi kesana kemari. sayang sekali.
