THIS WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. Literally no fucking notes.

Idk what drugs Meghan Quinn put in this book but I will need it for the rest of my life. That was not only one of the most funny but one of the hottest books I have read in a minute — trust me the audio book had me weak in the knees 🧎🏻‍♀️🫠

Silas and Ollie are so hot hot hot together and their chemistry was off the charts 🔥 BUT THAT MAN and HIS JACOBS LADDER 👀😮‍💨😛

Who knew sports romances could be so fun LMAO

read this series on audio like yesterday !

Tropes/Themes:
-MF romantic comedy
-Sports romance (hockey)
-Professional Hockey Player x College Student
-Age gap (10 years)
-Fake dating
-Dual POV
-Book #3 in an interconnected standalone series

Mixed feelings on this one. There were parts of this book that I absolutely loved and parts I disliked. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Silas and Ollie. They had such good banter and really balanced each other out well. My main issues boil down to the 3rd act drama. I won’t go into spoilers, but the way the conflict played out really made me lose a little respect for Silas. I was so disappointed, because he was my favorite part about the book up until that point. I also found the frequent use of the “other woman” as a villain character and plot device a little unnecessary. Even though I’m not a rom com girly, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a good laugh with their romance.

When the story opened with the main character finding his girlfriend in bed with two other people I knew this was going to be quite a roller coaster ride of drama and sex. This wasn’t my favorite read but there were parts of it that I found entertaining.

Ollie is in a bar with her friend when she finds out that her work rival is now dating her ex. In a desperate bid to save face, she approaches the first attractive man she sees and kisses him begging him to pretend to be her boyfriend. Enter Silas, a professional hockey player. He’s at the bar stressed because his ex now works for his team and his friends won’t leave him alone about it. Seeing that Ollie needs help and a way that she also could help him out he comes up with a plan. The pair will pretend to date which will get his friends off his back and help her ex believe she’s moved on.

What I liked about it: I love that it was dual POV, there was cute banter, the chemistry was there between them and the spice was just enough to add to the story but not take over.

What I didn’t like: Ollie. I don’t know if it was the author’s way of trying to push home that she was younger but I found her annoying most of the time. When she was coming up with the story of how they met I rolled my eyes many times and didn’t find it endearing.

If you’re looking for a hockey romance that is lighthearted and has fake dating and an age gap you can give this book a read!

This is the third book in this Meghan Quinn. I absolutely love her writing style. It is funny and quirky and the great for romcoms. This is a fake dating romance which I absolutely love. I don’t love age gaps as much.

Ollie is a college senior in Journalism. She is assigned a hockey piece as a final project which she knows nothing about. Luckily she just met one of the stars of the Vancouver Agitators, Silas Taters. This fake dating can be advantageous for both of them.

I really love Ollie and Silas. It was such a fun read. I didn’t love the age gap aspect of this book so in my head I made him 25. Overall it was fun and exactly what I needed. I will be continuing the series.
