When the story opened with the main character finding his girlfriend in bed with two other people I knew this was going to be quite a roller coaster ride of drama and sex. This wasn’t my favorite read but there were parts of it that I found entertaining.

Ollie is in a bar with her friend when she finds out that her work rival is now dating her ex. In a desperate bid to save face, she approaches the first attractive man she sees and kisses him begging him to pretend to be her boyfriend. Enter Silas, a professional hockey player. He’s at the bar stressed because his ex now works for his team and his friends won’t leave him alone about it. Seeing that Ollie needs help and a way that she also could help him out he comes up with a plan. The pair will pretend to date which will get his friends off his back and help her ex believe she’s moved on.

What I liked about it: I love that it was dual POV, there was cute banter, the chemistry was there between them and the spice was just enough to add to the story but not take over.

What I didn’t like: Ollie. I don’t know if it was the author’s way of trying to push home that she was younger but I found her annoying most of the time. When she was coming up with the story of how they met I rolled my eyes many times and didn’t find it endearing.

If you’re looking for a hockey romance that is lighthearted and has fake dating and an age gap you can give this book a read!
