- The very first paragraph made me laugh.

- Ingrid makes all kinds of dumb decisions!! She is the perfect example of the lying trap. She had to tell lies to cover her other lies.

- Grampy makes me laugh. He reminds me of my Grandpa Furr.

- There were things in the book that I thought didn't really add or do anything for the story. It was just fluff. For example: Grampy's property struggle. The fact that the Ferrands wanted to buy his land and he didn't want to sell wasn't really important.

- The overall book moved a little too slow for me, but it had its moments. The ending is pretty good. I knew who the culprit was, but I just didn't know exactly how he did it! I like how all the pieces came together.

- I was hoping for more Alice in Wonderland references and parallels. There were a few I guess...I just wanted more.

If you enjoy mysteries, I would recommend this book. It didn't completely pull my interest, but I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more when I was in middle school. As an adult, the writing and plot was a bit basic for me, but I enjoyed it overall.

I picked this Cozy Mystery up from my local used book store, not realizing this was geared toward a much younger crowd. That being said - it was a cute story and an easy read. The main character is only 13 years old and her antics can be rather annoying if you're a reading as an adult. I'm willing to read the next book in the series though I can't say I will be rushing to do so.

This was surprisingly, incredibly good! I really enjoyed reading it, the characters really came to life and the plot was sufficiently twisty. I (mostly) figured out the ending but it was fun watching Ingrid come to the same conclusion. Highly recommend this!

I bought this book on a whim. I didn't know anything about it except for what I read in the description. I fell in love with it. It's not the most complex book, but it does tell a wonderful story. It's a fun, easy read that keeps you entertained.

Book description~
Ingrid is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or at least her shoes are. And getting them back will mean getting tangled up in a murder investigation as complicated as the mysteries solved by her idol, Sherlock Holmes. With soccer practice, schoolwork, and the lead role in her town's production of Alice in Wonderland, Ingrid is swamped. But as things in Echo Falls keep getting curiouser and curiouser, Ingrid realizes she must solve the murder on her own -- before it's too late!

Book review~
I picked this book up in a charity shop after reading the back and getting huge 'a good girls guide to murder' vibes. I did enjoy this book it was a good teen murder mystery. I only reason I did not give it the full 5 stars is because I feel like the ending didn't entirely wrap itself up and I strongly dislike when a book isn't fully finished. The overall plot was pretty predictable but still enjoyable. Ingrid was a likeable character. I haven't fully decided yet whether or not I will be reading the rest of this series. but overall, it was a decent young adult book.

I loved it! The plot wasn't anything like I imagined. I couldn't guess any of the plot twists, which was unlike me. It was a wild ride!

For a young adult novel, there were more twists than expected and the ending was surprisingly well planned. This book presents a delightful cast of characters and subplots, keeping the reader hooked to follow through with the rest of the series. Also, this book is full of literary references, offering the reader with even more resources to look into whenever they can.

I quite enjoyed this and am curious as to where the curiosities of this town will lead in the ensuing novels. Also, nod to Nigel, he kinda stole the book and my heart lol
