I am confused about the order of this series. Every website you look at says different things about the order in which these books should be read! For instance, GoodReads says that this is NOT a Dark Hunter book, while Kenyon's website says it's book two. It's just a bit confusing for an obsessive book reader like me. I've decided to follow the author website though - that must be true, right?

After that huge digression I want to say that this was cute. There was kind of a lot happening for 86 pages, but it was sweet. Normally in a novella there's not much happening plot wise - it's strictly romance. (ie. Laura Kaye and her military series). That was not the case here. For a "first book", there was a lot of information thrown at you very quickly. No easing us, or Channon, into what's happening in this world. But maybe that's for the best, given how messed up this is. Poor guy can't live in our world.

Channon and Sebastian together prove to be quite the team. While I would have appreciated a bit of a longer introduction and story for them, I did ultimately enjoy this world and how they fell in love.

Sherrilyn Kenyon, you quickly nailed it.

This was a short story that introduces the reader to the Were-Hunter universe, which in turn is a spin off of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter universe. This story is interesting enough, but it is overshadowed by the fact that it sets up Were-Hunter history. This overshadowing makes it difficult for me to connect with the characters in the story, as I had been able to do with previous Dark-Hunter books. It's entertaining enough, but only really fits in the larger -Hunter universe, and is not good as a standalone book.

an enjoyable quick read. Another good tale from Kenyon. I really like the short little tales, because so often with the longer tales some of the authors tend to repeat and repeat -- OK WE GET IT. With the short tale they don't have the time to tell us too terribly many times how gorgeous the guy is, or how torn the female is...grin.

I know it's a novella. I know it's short. But like it felt TOO SHORT. Also, Sebastian giving red flag vibes by getting Channon to agreeing to "go home with him" while she is half asleep and not totally sure what that means and what she is in for.

Idk. The fated mates or soul mates thing shows up in the book and once again it's not my favorite trope. I've read a great many of them and they're never quite satisfying to me.

But I really liked the premise it set for the Arcadians and the Katagaria. I'm interested to see if we see these characters again in other books following these animal shifters. But it's an HEA and it had dragons and I'm happy enough to give it 4 stars.

*3.5

Basically this not entirely human being needs to take this dragon tapestry, and ends up meeting a human woman along the way.

It was okay? It was cheesy, but not so bad, more like I ended up laughing because the cheesiness got pretty bad.

The characters were fun to read about when they weren't fantasizing about each other, and some of the dialogue was fun to read

The world was fun to learn about. The whole two creature thing was unexpected in a good way

Not much else to say

Not the biggest fan of this one, guess I didn't really connect with the main couple. But, I think it's very interesting to see how a lot of the lore and back story to were hunters and their world was already set up so early on. I think the world this author has made is pretty incredible!

Read it in one sitting...

This is more of a novella or novelette but still well written and introduces the mating/bonding rituals, time travel, katagaria and arcadians in an uncomplicated form. Surprisingly none of the characters in the book are featured in later stories of the series.
