This book had me crying the last 50% of the book. Def connected with the book.
Hug your moms, because some of us don’t get to.

This is a graphic memoir of a daughter looking back at the loss of her mom at 47 to cancer.  It is written in cartoon style and very humorous.  It’s an honest look at the process and her personal process of grieving.

There were several pages I wanted to take a picture of and send to my sister because she perfectly captured how we have felt at times since losing our mother. Very sweet book.

I had a hard time finishing this book because personally it hurts so bad. I'm losing my beloved grandma to cancer, my aunt and my close friend also passed away because of her illness.

Because it brings so many unpleasant memories.

“It's weird to be waiting for someone to die. After a while, it starts to feel like you're rooting for death, just so the whole dying process can finally end.”

I cried right then and there.

Tapi, kehilangan tetaplah kehilangan. Perasaan yang amat kompleks. Kadang kita merasa biasa saja, kadang kita overwhelmed.

too many metaphors.
I think it's a really wonderful way that Tyler expressed her love for her mom.

In her graphic novel memoir, Tyler Feder recalls her mother's cancer diagnosis and death. Tyler was in her late teens when her mother was diagnosed with cancer after a number of complaints about abdominal pain. Tyler and her 3 sisters had a close relationship with their mom. Tyler recounts some of her memories of her mom from childhood and we truly feel the bond that they had. Later, Tyler is away at her first year of college while her mom is dealing with her cancer treatments. There is a lot of guilt and sadness on Tyler's part. The latter portion of the book deals with the death and grieving. Tyler states that she hopes that this book will help others deal with their own grief. This book is a beautiful ode to her mother and an honest accounting of grief.
