Mercy finds herself inhabiting a new body of Lela and works through the dramas that present themselves from Lela's life. The story continues by introducing more clues as to who Mercy really is and why she is torn between the mysterious Luc and the very human, Ryan. I enjoyed this next addition to the Mercy series.

Well that book ended unexpectedly. I will say that the rehashing of Mercy, and who she is and how everything works is a bit annoying. It takes me about a chapter or 2 to stop skimming, and be able to just read. I just am already in the 'know' it might be good as a refresher if you had to wait for a year or two between books, but reading them back to back was just annoying. And it felt really dragged out even for the standard recap. I did like this book, and I liked Lela better than I liked Carmen honestly. Mercy and Ryan are what makes this book, and there are obviously some issues with Luc that I'm dying to figure out. I just want to know what the whole deal is.

A lovely follow-up to [b:Mercy|8373527|Mercy (Mercy, #1)|Rebecca Lim|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1297927186s/8373527.jpg|13229154], I read it in the same day!
There is no decrease in the quality of the book or the strength of the plotline. In fact I'm pretty confident that this could stand alone. I'm super excited to get my hands on the next two which makes a change as normally I always feel annoyed at series books.
I'm really impressed in how [a:Rebecca Lim|3002235|Rebecca Lim|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1409108642p2/3002235.jpg] has kept up the flow of the story and she is an inspiration to me. Both thumbs up!
My only peeve is that, initially, when I'm given the name of a well-known angel (Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, etc.) I immediately picture the characters as I know them in the CW's show Supernatural. This is just my own problem as a Supernatural fan and I'll have to overcome it sooner or later as this is happening to me a lot with the Angel genre ([b:Halo|7778981|Halo (Halo, #1)|Alexandra Adornetto|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1278885735s/7778981.jpg|10695325] off the top of my head). However [a:Rebecca Lim|3002235|Rebecca Lim|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1409108642p2/3002235.jpg] really managed to make the angels her own and I hope for more development of these minor characters later on.

This very much felt like a filler book. Not bad, but also not what I wanted. Looking forward to book 3, hopefully that has more of Ryan in it. The lore that is starting to come together is very interesting though, I wish more of it was sprinkled throughout because the ending was super interesting.

Pretty much frustrating all around. Mercy is once again in a new body, Lela, who lives in a tiny world comprised of her dying mother and her dead-end job working as a waitress when she's desperate for something more. Mercy struggles with trying to remember what happened to her, to reconnect with Ryan, and her mysterious past.

What annoyed me, I think, was how fixated Mercy was on talking to Ryan, to the extent that she was rather blinded by her surroundings. She didn't think of trying to make Lela's life better--mostly she was thinking of escape for herself. It's not terrible to be selfish once in a while, but the way she just forged ahead made me unhappy.

Also, the ending was a bit of a kick in the gut. It was almost expected at that point, considering what went on in the book, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a bit of a shock. The book kept my attention, but the plot was a bit weak until the end, where you find out a few more truths and pile on a few more questions. 2 stars.

There has never been a book that confused me as much as this one did, and yes, I read the first novel in the series. None of my questions were answered from the first book, and even more questions arose from reading this one. Nothing was accomplished. Mercy was completely selfish in the way she used Lela's life. I was certain that by finishing the book I would have changed my mind on it, but nope, not at all. Unless there are some guaranteed answers in the third installment, I will not be finishing the series.

100% awesome! I love how the angels are becoming more entwined with her and her life...or lives, I should say. I miss Ryan. Luc is obviously Lucifer, and evil. I am excited to read the next installment in this series.

I liked this a lot better then the previous one, I could connect more to Mercy for some reason, and I thought the tone of it was better too, haha, maybe it's just me being picky but I think it's deffinetly worth pursuing this series.
