Exile by Rebecca Lim

5.0

A lovely follow-up to [b:Mercy|8373527|Mercy (Mercy, #1)|Rebecca Lim|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1297927186s/8373527.jpg|13229154], I read it in the same day!
There is no decrease in the quality of the book or the strength of the plotline. In fact I'm pretty confident that this could stand alone. I'm super excited to get my hands on the next two which makes a change as normally I always feel annoyed at series books.
I'm really impressed in how [a:Rebecca Lim|3002235|Rebecca Lim|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1409108642p2/3002235.jpg] has kept up the flow of the story and she is an inspiration to me. Both thumbs up!
My only peeve is that, initially, when I'm given the name of a well-known angel (Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, etc.) I immediately picture the characters as I know them in the CW's show Supernatural. This is just my own problem as a Supernatural fan and I'll have to overcome it sooner or later as this is happening to me a lot with the Angel genre ([b:Halo|7778981|Halo (Halo, #1)|Alexandra Adornetto|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1278885735s/7778981.jpg|10695325] off the top of my head). However [a:Rebecca Lim|3002235|Rebecca Lim|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1409108642p2/3002235.jpg] really managed to make the angels her own and I hope for more development of these minor characters later on.
