I felt like the book was off to a slow start. The first half seemed to be really long and drawn out but that is to be expected with the intricate tales that Aleatha normally spins. Jumping back and forth between the past and present gave the story two different feels and, of course, perspectives. I definitely enjoyed the "present" chapters more as it was the complex plot being spun while the "past" chapters was more the "action" part of this first novel. I've always been more of a story > sex kind of reader so I definitely appreciated all of the issues Alex faced at home and was running away from. It seemed like the more characters that were brought into the novel the more layers were being added on. I was back and forth on Charli's/Alex's character for the longest time. Part of me rolls my eyes as to how easily she fell into Nox's arms but part of me loves how strong she is to stand up to the bullshit put forth by her family. The ending was a bit of (expected) messed up and left me craving more story. As a fan of the author's other series, I was expecting a twisted plot with a cliffhanger-type ending and she didn't disappoint!
Spoilers because I dont know how not to
This reminded me a lot of [b:Uncovering You: The Complete First Boxset|23598368|Uncovering You The Complete First Boxset (Uncovering You #1, #2, & #3)|Scarlett Edwards|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1423680448s/23598368.jpg|43068951]. Not that it was exactly similar, but there were points towards the end of the book, especially at the end when Nox ended up acquiring her company on a 1 year contract. Yea, thats not exactly how Uncovering you happened, but I still immediately thought of Stonehart when Nox gave his speech to Alex at the end.

exactly what you would expect from these types of books. steamy, but filled with questionable actions and morals. the tension has me hooked to be honest, i don't really care much about the couple, but i want to find out what will come next
too much back and forth time jump
Five sexy, thrilling stars!
Beautifully written--from the first page, I was pulled into Alexandra/Alex/Charlie (with an I)'s messed up world, and her struggle to break free of it.
From the moment she meets Nox on a spa break with her bestie, you know those two are going to be smoking hot. (***Not-so Spoiler Spoiler: They TOTALLY are!!!)
The twists and turns this story takes kept me on my toes. At 80 percent, I put down my Kindle and thought, "I have no idea what is going to happen now."
That's a GREAT thing!!!
The ending is one word: Perfect. I was literally begging for more.
I went into this blind, and so should you. I'll only say this: If you enjoyed ONE TO HOLD, you're going to LOVE Betrayal!!!!
Now I'm impatiently waiting for #2...

This book is a big old bowl of hot, buttery, movie theater popcorn; With Raisinettes and an icy cold Pepsi. I cannot WAIT to read the next one.
You know that moment, when you realize you are into a story for the LONG haul. Well it just hit me. I just realized there are four books in this series and it’s likely Betrayal quite hasn’t scratched the surface to the mystery of Nox. I fear it may be a grueling wait - Just what is that man about??
In the first part of the Infidelity series, Alexandra (Alex) Collins is front and center. When we first meet her, she’s returning to her ancestral home but not with any familial longing. There is a strong sense of foreboding as this refined southern belle is clearly returning “home” under duress. So we are left to figure out just why this is. Told entirely through Alex’s point of view, we traverse between two locations; Alex at her family home and Alex where she’d rather be - six weeks in the past and experiencing her first authentic feelings of sensuality and longing when she meets the mysterious Nox.
My initial reaction to Alex was delightfully unexpected. It took awhile for me to warm up to her. I was completely intrigued by the circumstances in the “Present”, by her dysfunctional family and discovering how her future was about to change. It’s a bit counter-intuitive considering the genre but Alex’s battles at home made Betrayal a wonderful mystery/suspense read. This Alex was the one I was excited to follow. That’s not to say that Alex, six weeks in the “Past” wasn’t interesting. Oh no, Nox made sure it was. I just became preoccupied by the present and tried and tried to guess just how the circumstances she faced would collide with the Alex from six weeks prior. The Alex we see on vacation isn’t at all who she really is. It’s not as though she’s trying to be conniving or deceptive, she’s just adhering to the rules. Alex becomes Charli and voilà, the entitled college grad is part of a sensual alpha man’s cocoon and clearly in way over her head.
Nox remains an enigma. We know SO Little of him. It wasn’t enough for me but it made for a was a great set-up. We are never privy to his thoughts and so EVERYTHING about him is a mystery. I’m surprised I was content with it. Well at least I WAS. The mystery of Nox’s “Rules” was maddening, but I was content to let it be. After all, what choice did I have? So, right up until the very end of their time together, I simply enjoyed the mystery of Nox. That changed in a flash. Now? Now I crave information on Nox. What I do know is that he can be utterly romantic:
“When our eyes met, his lips curled into his sexy smile. “I don’t have the words,” he said. “Amazing seems woefully insufficient.”, and amazingly sensual: “That was what Nox did: he worshiped, adoring my body - every inch. Beginning at my ankles…”. I guess if we are left with knowing so little of Nox, we get the best parts.
Betrayal is a clever read that is executed to perfection. I’m still mulling over the implications and the predicament that Alex is in and believe Cunning ( Infidelity Book #2) is already one of my most anticipated releases for 2016. Mostly though, I just want more Nox.
More Nox! More Nox! More Nox! More Nox! More Nox! More Nox! More Nox! More Nox! More...
5 stars and my recommendation!

What The Shi&t
I'm lil confused with this one as you can see lol buuut I did like it. I think the Bryce issue was stupid like it just didn't fit. Like I'm missing the big picture, buuuut then there is a book two and book three that I most def. will read because my girl Ms. Romig can write her ass off... I really loved Nox and Charli cant wait to see what happens since the rules have changed
5 Stars!!
Just as good if not better the second time round!

2016 review
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED This series so much so that I read both before even marking this one as read. Again Aleatha has told an amazingly captivating story that has you not able to put it down. Strong intriguing characters, hot men and money what is there not to like. I did find myself wanting to ring a few necks or slap some faces but that is how much emotion gets pulled out while reading these books.
