The title of the book is what first drew me in, and then when I started reading and found out what it was actually about, I was even more excited about it. The storyline and the characters are wonderful and very… real. Although I found the pace a bit too slow for my liking, I still loved the book for all it is. Just precious.
I felt Smith bended too much to the "demands of the public", namely, the single middle age women who read young adult books mainly for the sex. You could even say I'm overreacting, since the "scene" wasn't or dragged out or explicitly wrote (Smith seemed to want to just get that out in the middle, like she had to fill this quota somehow, then totally ignore what she just wrote in the next chapter, like it didn't actually happen), but because I've read previous books, this surprised me from this author. Usually from a Smith novel, there's not much to worry about, because she usually pulls off romance in books naturally and sweet without vulgarity or inappropriateness.I would usually recommend Smith books to others, or squeal when I see them reading one, but this one...
And, while reading, although caught up in the whole, should-they-stay-together-or-shouldn't-they, I realize after reading that they kind of made a really big deal over something that was serious, but not that bad (since the best outcome, since they loved each other and whatnot, was to wait until later, or you know, not date in high school to begin with and figure out who you want to be before dragging yourself through painful heartbreak, but of course that's my own personal opinion). Plus, a long distance relationship is really not that huge of a deal when you've known each other for two years, but it does take effort (which I guess they didn't want to do..), but the ending was sweet, etc, etc.
This very much teeters from a 2 1/2 to a 3 star rating...

3.5 This book was cute and I liked learning about Clare and Aidan's relationship. Even though I enjoyed this one, I didn't like it nearly as much as the other Jennifer E Smith books I've read in the past (it was really no match for the other ones, to be quite honest).
At first, I thought that this story was quite boring. I felt as if I hade read this story before and it was a lot of 'deja vu'-feelings over it. The characters were so ordinary and 'easy', and everything else was so 'superromantic' that it felt fake.
But after a while, when more had happened and I had started to get to know them, the story got better. Even though I thought that the main character Clare was so boring and nothing 'special', I started to enjoy her friends. I would've loved to get to know Stella better, or Scotty. They seemed so interesting, so why couldn't we get more of them? The story was really good when they were in it, so...
I enjoyed when the story got a bit more 'crazy' and also when they had long talks about something, but everything else was just 'simple'. I wanted more than I got, so to say.

When I got 80% through with the book I knew the book would’ve been better if centered around Scotty and Sasha.. Not Clare and Aiden. That’s only because the last 50 pages did not have them. The prologue was the best part of this book. I saw more emotion in the last 5 pages than the first 242.
I really wanted to love this book because I adored the statistical probability of love at first sight. I initially was going to give a 1 ⭐️. But the prologue left me with some feelings.

This book does an excellent job of capturing the emotional truth of these situations. The characters feel real and the emotional experience feels palpable.
The side characters are great and I would have liked to have a bit more sense of closure on their storyline, but it worked the way it was.
The ending was quite surprising, but in a good way.
Definitely a good book to pick up!
