Does it always make sense? No, definitely not. It's like a kaleidoscope in how it jumbles ideas and concepts together. Some themes are over simplified, others complicated past the point of understanding. The takeaway is simple and there's not a lot of time spent on it. But there's a certain compulsion to it and it does a good job at rocketing up the tension and anxiety. Like other Shusterman books, the charecters are less people and more concepts -- pieces to move around in the kaleidoscope world. It's a short, fast paced, interesting read. Not too profound but has a couple of solid gut punches. Good for an afternoon or a late night or a hesitant reader.

I've always hated clowns; never saw any fun at all in mirror mazes. Then you put the two together? Plus guns?? C'mon, man, that's not right, at all, in any scenario, ever.
You seem like such a nice man...sigh.
I recommend it to everyone.

I loved this book so much as a teen, and it’s given me a better understanding of myself now that I’m older and past that time.

While angsty and a bit flat at times, the book does a great job a representing hopelessness and fear as well as perseverance. Would I look away from the warped mirror? Would I only seek the thrill or be more level headed? What scares me the most? I like that the book makes us ask ourselves these questions along the way. Otherwise, the plot is okay. I think it could’ve been creepier, given the cover.

My favorite book is Neal Shusterman’s Challenger Deep, so I was really excited to read another book by him and I wasn’t disappointed! Full Tilt is a dark and intriguing story about facing your fears, accepting your unique experiences, and forgiving yourself.

Blake and his friends follow his reckless brother, Quinn, to a mysterious amusement park. They quickly discover the rides and the entire park are much more dangerous than they appear. The only way to escape is to survive the rides, which force them to make startling discoveries about each other and themselves.

My favorite thing about this book is Neal Shusterman’s ability to create such vivid worlds that are unique and fantastical yet clearly tied to issues that will be relatable to many readers in the real world.

Not my favorite book by Neal Shusterman. This book was definitely unique. I've never read anything like it before. Neal Shusterman's books are all refreshing and new. None of the same old same old.
This book was definitely creepy, but it had a good message: Believe in yourself even when others want to bring you down.
