I loved this book so much as a teen, and it’s given me a better understanding of myself now that I’m older and past that time.

While angsty and a bit flat at times, the book does a great job a representing hopelessness and fear as well as perseverance. Would I look away from the warped mirror? Would I only seek the thrill or be more level headed? What scares me the most? I like that the book makes us ask ourselves these questions along the way. Otherwise, the plot is okay. I think it could’ve been creepier, given the cover.
