Some of them weren't to my liking, but there were others I really loved.

Like all of the other Flight collections, this one goes off in every possible direction. Some of these tales were pure gold, others felt half finished, and still others made my nose crinkle in disgust. Well worth the read for the guilded bits. A few highlights for me were Craven's "Cellmates," Guenoden's "The Ride" and Chiang's "This Time." Hertzfeldt's "Dance of the Sugar Plums" surprised me; I had expected something more cruelly or disgustingly absurd from him (being familiar with his animations like "Billy's Balloon" and "Rejected"), and this one just felt more sad and poignant in its dislocation. On the other hand, TenNapel's "Solomon Fix" was just awful, and Carneiro's "La Sonadora" seemed so flat and artificially cute it was annoying.

Kazu Kibuishi is doing so much for graphic novels! His Flight anthologies have introduced me to so many amazing artists and story tellers. I had never seen an anthology like this before and now it seems such an obvious way to get this genre into the mainstream. I didn't absolutely love every single story or artist, but that's the beauty of a collection like this; every story is so short, that you don't feel like you're wasting time if it's not to your liking. It's a lot of bang, for very little commitment on the part of the reader. Every volume is worth a look.

The Flight collections are the perfect introduction to graphic novels. The reader can learn about authors, discern what style graphics they enjoy most, and read many different types of stories. Lovely.

This one was much much much better than the first volume. The stories were more interesting, as was the artwork, and they weren't ALL flight-related. After three, stories about flying can get pretty freaking boring...even if the anthology is about flight.

This is a lot like volume 1. It kind of overstays its welcome though. I think these collections of lesser known comic artists tend to be better if they're not super long.

An interesting collection of comics, many introducing me to artists I hadn't heard of before. I really enjoyed most of the stories and the art was all different, but all conveyed the artist's vision and echoed the feeling of the story very well.

Some of the stories were fine in the short form presented here, but many of them I would have loved to read more. That is my only criticism of Flight, just not enough of it!

I'm looking forward to reading more volumes of Flight. It is a very good series to read as an introduction to what comics can be, for adults who're maybe not as interested in Super Man or Super Cute Big Eyed Girl.

All of the comics have many levels to them and I would say are intended for an older audience, though they could work for any age really.

This book is BEAUTIFUL. It includes over 30 short stories, sorry, short comics, all by different authors and artists. Each one is no more than ten pages and the art is incredible. The stories themselves are less powerful than the artwork. Many are clever and fun, a few are remarkable, but most were quite forgettable despite the art being spectacular. I can't quite give it 5 stars simply because of this, but having said that it truly was a wonderful read and if you are a fan of comics it's a great way to find new authors and artists.
