I'm very confused about Yuki-san.  In the best world, I want to say that she knew what Yoshino was doing when they first met at that cafe. And maybe's she's jokingly obsessed with Yoshino and Shuichi...but it's still weird. Besides all the inappropriate touching. Or just straight up groping. There are a lot of things to like- Yuki-san's backstory + Shii-chan, support for our characters from friends and family, etc. But the story telling does feel very uneven, like people noted on GR. I suppose this manga does fall into slice-of-life, but the randomness feels jarring sometimes.

I like seeing how Shuichi and Yoshino’s friendship develops and encourages them to be their truest selves. The essay Transgendered in Japan at the end is also informative.

the pacing is still out of control. But the story is rounding into shape. I enjoyed this volume a lot more than the first volume.

The story continues with his older sister discovering his secret and the addition of new adult friends.

No great resolution, but our character is slowly becoming bolder in his own skin.

My women's studies professor lent me this book to read to gain a more transnational perspective on transgender people. This was the first manga I've ever read, and it was kind of hard to read at first, but I enjoyed it! It was a super sweet story and I can't wait to read the next volumes.

This volume had more things happening and I got some interesting favorite characters too. I think I'm in love with this manga series.

I thought that, after processing the deluge of characters in the first volume, it would be easier to follow character interactions this time around. Damn, was I wrong.

Confusion aside, this is still excellent stuff. The characters are evolving in a way that is, while a little cartoony, still makes sense. And the slightly fantastical elements of the story fit together very well.
