genuinely despise that scene where shii-chan gropes them and then it's just. never spoken about again but other than that, fantastic.

This is starting to get amazingly good. Shimura does such an excellent job of portraying just how precarious and frustration and insane entering adolescence is, and then adds in questions of gender identity. I felt the second volume was a lot stronger than the first -- it was easier to tell the characters apart, and the pacing and plotting was better. I can't WAIT to read the third volume.

all of the aspects of the kids developing their identities is nice but isn't there a better way for the children have an older role model?

Really beautiful, still. I found the (editor? translator?) note at the back to be really helpful to contextualize this manga– it makes sense that it was published originally for adults, but it is so tender towards the characters. Quiet and lovely.

Elementary-school kids (5th-6th grade) dealing with the fluidity of gender--a boy who wants to be a girl and a girl who wants to be a boy.

I'm pleased with where the story went from volume 1. The characters are more focused, the scenarios are better, and it's just a much better package all around. At the end is an article (by the translator, I think?) about the state of transgendered in Japan, which was an interesting read. My hesitations about volume 1 are blown away.

so wait, is it just gonna be ignored that Takatsuki-kun got molested by Yuki-san's boyfriend?? or was that not real, like an imagination or sth?
