I absolutely loved this read! Albeit slightly predictable, I loved Kristin Hannah’s writing, she has a way of making you visualise the words!

Multi-POV, it follows two sisters (police officer and child psychologist) in a small town where a ‘wild child’ has been found.

It really delves into the ‘ of feral child’ and how challenging family dynamics seep into adulthood.

Easy page turner and you want to know who did it! Storyline is a tad far fetched but easy writing style.

Light-hearted, easy entertaining read! Great palate cleanser for when in between heavy books.

I wish the ending had been conclusive as it left on a bit of a cliffhanger but that could’ve been to make room for a sequel!

Fast paced book with interesting subject matter (a black violinist who is a classical prodigy)

It’s an easy read which is entertaining but I felt the characters and plot could have been developed better. I also thought the characters could be more nuanced and less one dimensional.

This was an emotionally tense book that will stay with me for a very very long time. Amazing writing. Reasons it is not a 5⭐️:
1) Not all the characters were developed fully. We started with four but we kind of end up with two.
2) Still conflicted as to whether or not it is ‘trauma porn’ and the objective of the writing

Overall the book is okay, a pleasant read but it took me a WHILE to get into (I almost DNF’d) as there were tooo many food references that I just didn’t understand. I found myself skimming them.

I enjoyed what I learnt about South Korea and exploring the theme of grief but overall it felt flat and I didn’t feel the emotion I should have.
