Wow! This book was absolutely phenomenal! It was a beautifully crafted journey of a women traveling to the other side of the world where she rediscovered who she was, what she wanted to do and even fell in love. I learned so much while reading this book. It was truly an inspiring read. Thank you @booksparks #booksharks for giving me the opportunity to read this book. I truly don't think anything I put on a review would do this novel justice. I really would suggest picking a copy up
We meet Sarah a doctor, a surgeon to be excat on an airplane to Africa saving a passenger from an allergic reaction to fish. While in Tanzania, Africa, Sarah is part of the obstetric ward, her project is to better educate the tribal birth attendees to hopefully be able to tell when a pregnancy is in danger so they can get proper medical attention instead of home birth. The goal is to help lower the three major causes of maternal deaths that are on the rise. Sarah was quick to make many friendships in Africa, where she would go on many adventures such as local attractions and even a Safari. Not all was fun while she was there she saw many deaths, many female genital mutilations, a baby also born with deformities dies in her arms. While in Africa her fiancee who was suspose to come along to study but things fell through came to visit and they are able to climb Kilimanjaro together. Sarah had some major accomplishments but also got very ill and was brought back to the US while she healed. Sarah was such a strong confident women that evolved even more on this African study program questioning her romantic decisions and really digging deep to discoverer what she really wanted to do with her life. I really believe that she came out a truly better person and on a better path than if she hasn't gone to Africa and just fell into the dance routine with the same man she had been on!

The Whisper Man by Alex North, I've seen so many raging reviews for this one I think I may have hyped it up too much in my head. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the story for the most part. Although some parts fell kind of flat for me, other details I found were unnecessary and other parts I found kept me hanging. I also didn't find the book to be that creepy or scary. I found the writing style of multiple points of view confusing at times because the chapters jumped point of view but you had to start reading the chapter before you could distinguish who was talking. I guess i was just hoping for more.
I loved the premise of the story. North did an amazing job bringing childhood and parental fears to life. He had excellent character development. You were able to really get a feel for what the characters were thinking, feeling and experiencing.
A small town is faced with a serial child abducter, who lures children by whispering to them was caught and put in prison. Skip to 20 years later and one of those children's bodies still hasn't been found, when a new child goes missing. Are the abductions connected, how so if the prepetrator is still in jail, a copycat? A new family moves to town into the infamous "scary house". Strange things start occuring. Bones are discovered, a body, and a new kidnapping. Will they find the children in time ands figure out who is behind it all?
Thank you to Celadon books and netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lisa Jewell has wowed me once again with The Family Upstairs. It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not dissappoint. With short chapters and a now and then perspective this was a face paced read I didn't want to put down.
The story starts in Chelsea at a house on Cheyne walk. 3 adults were found dead, perhaps a cult suicide, a baby was also found but the other children who lived there have simply vanished. Will the truth of what transpire in the home every come to light?
Fast forward 25 years where we meet Libby the baby of Cheyne Walk, who just discovered that she has inherited the house that her birth name was Serenity. Libby finds out the story her adoptive parents told her wasn't altogether true. Libby starts to research what happened in the house and tries to discover her past. On her path to uncover the truth Libby discovers easy more then she bargained for.
I highly recommend picking up this crazy twisted cult family read full of secrets that will suck you right in! Can't wait to see what Lisa Jewell thinks up next.

wenty years ago, On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill twelve students and a teacher and wound twenty-four others before taking their own lives.
A Mother's Reckoning is told from the prespective of Dylan's mother. A perspective you don't normally hear. It was a very insightful read that really made me think and open my eyes to several things I didn't realize and that I think people over look or judge based on what her son did. It was a really eye opening book filled with grief, sorrow, compassion, shedding light into some major issues in society.

This was my first time reading anything by Blake Crouch, I own Dark Matter but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'm definitely a mystery and thriller girl and not so much into sci-fi fantasy, but my bookish goal this year was to add more genres into my reading, and am I ever glad I picked this up.
Recursion was absolutely phenomenal! It definitely wowed me. The plot had an interesting premise and was so well thought out and delivered Crouch definitely rose to the occasion and blew this one out of the water.
I found this one hard to put down because I needed to know what was going to happen.
If you had the chance to torn back time to save a love one, or turn a wrong into a right would you?
I don't think I can really do this one justice in a review without giving too much away, but I highly recommend you pick it up to read

Love, Heather by Laurie Petrou was one emotional read. This was an amazing story about the trials and tribulations in teens in today's society. Petrou dives into bullying, rape culture, the pain and suffering youth endure from both. The book goes on to show the effects these things have on young impressionable teens. We even see the harsh effects that the main character turned to from feeling alone, misunderstood and isolated. Such a profound powerful read.
Love, Heather follows Stevie in her first year of highschool, discovering herself and the world around her. Early on she starts having trouble with her best friend. This seems to be the starting point to the troubling journey Stevie has. Many things are changing, her best friend is hanging out with other people, her mother has a new boyfriend, her friends mother who Stevie's always been close with is transitioning to a man. Stevie at the most vulnerable time of her life feels very alone. She is able to make a friend in Dee, together they decide to turn the bullying around. It seems to be working until one night at a party. The party would shape the rest of Stevies life. She knows what must be done, with the coaching of Dee it could be the most disastrous decision of her life.
