The only reason that I will not give full stars is for the over used “I’m the chosen one” trope and “the chosen one loses its powers”. I’m aware of the reasons why she lost her powers, but it makes me so angry. Throughout the whole trilogy Alina did more for other people than for her self. I wanted her to be slightly more selfish, more stand her ground (I’m looking at you Mal). But overall it’s deserves the hype, Nikolai wins over everything.

Did not age well indeed. The heavily racist comments, it’s a no for me. Sad because the author is a pretty good author in terms of writing style. What a shame

I think I’m basing myself too much off from the film as well, however, Simons agenda is what straight people believe gay people are. It’s a whole no for me, there are better lgbtq novels out there

Did I love it? Yes! Then why didn’t I give 5 stars? For the bisexuality erasure. I love Simon and Baz’s story, the both of them own my heart, but I can’t deny or pretend the whole “I’m gay now” it didn’t happen. Don’t get me wrong, as a member of the lgbtq+ community I’m all about growing and experiences your sexuality. The problem stands when the author, decided to COMPLETELY erase Simon previous relationship with Agatha, which lasted 3 whole years, after he kissed Baz. Before them kissing we, the audience, didn’t have any clues or whatsoever on Simon second guessing his sexuality, yes there was sexual tension perhaps between him and Baz, but that’s another story. Before chapter 61, we have Simon not asking once to himself “do I find blokes attractive?”, and as a matter of fact he thinks about getting back with Agatha more than once. So, the question is, why not making Simon bisexual? Why going straight to the “I’m gay now” thing? And why using the “do I like guys? No. Would I make out with you tho? Yes.” Kinds of trope? It’s exhausting seeing lgbt characters not getting the respect they deserve, but most of all the happy ending they deserve. (I’m looking at you wayward son)

I’m about to implode. Is it so hard to give some happiness to those two? Pretty much Simon and Baz issues could have been resolved if they talked to each other. I disagree with the comments “Baz is acting like a simp” or “Simon is too harsh”. Simon has literally went through so much staff, that perhaps he has severe depression now and ptsd. Has lost his magic and you call him “harsh?” For the Baz situation, I think he isn’t acting any weirded than before. Early in book one, we see his internal monologue about Simon and they were pretty cheesy (with a bit of spiteful comments of top), but that’s how Baz is. Just because he appears taught and nasty, doesn’t mean he is like that. I like this version of Baz, where he is trying to express at best his feelings, but it’s hard not just for him, also for Simon the two of them went through a lot and I wish for a happing ending in the 3rd book.

They have my heart honestly. I bought the book without knowing it was a graphic novel, and I literally finished it in 30 minuets. I was so desperate for more that I bought the rest of the series that same night. Nick and Charlie are honestly the relationship I aspire to have one day. Bless them.

I hate Dumbledore with a passion.

A 13 year old writes a better fanfic on wattpad. This completely breaks a part the whole Harry Potter world, the way Harry acts in a ABUSING manner towards his OWN son, after spending years and years of abuse by the Dursley’s… The whole “scorpious like rose” just because JK is a homophobic individual angers me. They have NO chemistry, she (Sirius ;) seriously writes queer coded characters and then says staff like “no he is straight “ STRAIGHT WHERE JOANNE EXPLAIN

Did I struggle to understand how the escape the ice court? Yes. Did I still enjoy endlessly and will not shut up about it? Also yes. 10/10
