This was a fun YA fantasy that was written by a teen!
Ember is riding in the woods one day and gets stuck in a cave from the rain. She finds a strange pink glowing crystal and when she touches it, she travels to the land of Tieria. This land has magic and it turns out so does Ember!
Ember saves Levi a criminal and learns that there is a rebellion to try and take over the King (who is un-aliving magic wielders). There are many dangers that they face together. It's hard to know who to trust sometimes.
This was a great, easily bingeable book and that end... Can't wait for more!

Can I just wrap Seb up in a pretty little package and bring him home for Christmas? Oh he's perfect!
I love a marriage of convenience book. This one is a hockey one and I just love the team of the Cyclones!
Maddie is a good person. She did not deserve Adam to have done what he did! (Don't even get me started on Maddie's mom. ) She was so supportive of him and he just (I felt) used her until he found "something better".... Which wasn't. I love that she is Jax's stepsister as I read his book first so it was great to see him.
I loved how comfortable they were with each other. Their meet cute was funny/embarrassing and their whole relationship from fake start (traffic cone/drunk wedding/Elvis) to real feelings (he falls first.. Gives her a wedding she deserves) just had me smiling the whole way through.

This was a cute middle grade novel, was easy to read and I had a blast with Maddie and her wildness!
Maddie is a little paranoid sometimes but I love her attitude all the same. I really had fun going along with her as she thinks her new neighbors are spies and sets out to prove it. I figured out a twist pretty early on but it did not stop my high enjoyment. I liked the BFF Rachel.. Her and Maggie fought in a real way and it lent to the authenticity of their friendship. I'm glad they gave Chloe a chance to become their friend, she really needed it.

Rune has been exiled and on the run for many years. In a land full of monsters she finds a commune of bandits in the Colds (the woods) and a plot by the King that will ruin all their lives. I love Rune. She's witty and sarcastic and will do anything she can to survive.
Kaineres is a witch/healer who was also banished. It allowed him to find a half sister and a niece he didn't know he had. But he lost a lot. I really liked his character. He was quick to trust and was just a really big softy.
Sanders is such a great friend to Rune. They provide so much comic relief and I want to be best buddies with them.
The ending was a bit ambiguous. I felt that if this was all we got, it ended on a great note. But I do hope we get more to see what becomes of the world in the aftermath.

20 years ago, Kathryn left Andrew with no explanation. Then they ran into each other in a coffee shop where she was talking to a boy who looked EXACTLY like him on the phone.
This starts a long, complicated (but easy to read) rush of the past catching up with the present.
This was a really good multi layered family drama which I read in one sitting. I just couldn't stop turning the pages fast enough. The characters are well fleshed out and I really felt what they were going through coming through the pages. There are a lot of tough topics covered- infertility, addiction, suicidal ideation- but just written with care.

Fortune's Kiss is a dark, dangerous game and I was HERE for it!
To play the game, at the very least you could lose your dreams and at the highest price-v your life.
Mayte and Lo are determined to beat the game... Together. They do not know what's in store for them!
I hate how both of their fathers were just terrible people. I can't believe Mayte's mom couldn't even be asked to spare a good thought for her only daughter.
The lives that are lost in the game are not all bad and some I felt so sorry for that they even played. I love how some of the cards in the game come alive and make the players choose whether they want to obey the cars or not. The conclusion is probably the best that could have been hoped for. This was a great debut and I'm so glad I got a chance to read it.

All elements of this book blended seamlessly together for a wonderful story and start to a trilogy.
This takes place in a struggling restaurant in New York and the FMC Josie has just been through the loss of her beloved grandmother. She's also not doing well but starts to open up to the new coat check girl Mia. They both discover they have a special ability.
This book felt very Gothic. I love the found family of the restaurant workers. I loved that Mia comes from New Orleans so she just had this "flavor" about her that is refreshing. As things (that I just can't talk about... You need to discover yourself) come to light..I was kind of just in awe of not catching it beforehand.

This was a fun adventure on the streets of New York. But as wedding prep disaster after wedding prep disaster happens while the maid of honor and the best man help out the bride and groom who are gone out of the country on a family emergency.
Axel is a retired professional baseball player and Sera is a second grade teacher and they are tasked with helping finalize plans for their friend's wedding. What should be easy turns out to be a big disaster. As these two try their best to do save what they can, they become really good friends though Sera wants it to be more.
Axel is the nicest of people and I'm so glad he didn't turn it to be like his reputation seemed to be. He was devoted to his family and he made everyone around him feel special. Sera is also an amazing person, spending her free time at a care center and being such a gem of a friend to Mr. Jurgen.

#Hadlink for cutest friends to lovers couple ever!
Hadley and James (now Link) were great friends in college... Until he left her for Hollywood while she started in her home town of Harvest Hollow and became a teacher. But now he needs her help to bolster his image so they will "fake date", get pictures leaked to the press of their coupling and then break up.
These two are so cute. I love the premise of Hadley's roommate in getting her to say "no!" when she doesn't want to do something and saying "yes" to different adventures. She is so sweet to help Link. I admire Link and his protectiveness of not just his mom from the spotlight but of Hadley as they go through this charade. I love the relationship of Hadley and her dad. I love the nickname "Hads" that James calls her.
There are many laugh out loud moments (honestly I got a lot of giggles from "The FUD", Hadley's boss/school principal). The Catty's Coffee scene had me rolling. I liked the side characters of Sam, Nina and Ray.
Love this book with muchness- iykyk and you will if you read the book! Thanks for making me swoon and love fall even more Julie!

What a beautifully written historical fiction novel. It goes from the years of 1952 to 1957. 1952 with the start of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and ending with her first televised Christmas message in 1957.
But the heart of it is Olive, a young reporter who happens to help the Queen with her Christmas message each year (at least in how to present it confidently). We also get a POV of Jack, a chef in the employ of the Queen and a friend of Olive's. There are also looks into 1945 between Olive and Jack and their friends at the end of the war. This gives a lot of insight into these two characters and the way the present is shaped between them.
There is a lot of heart in here. I really felt the pull between the two MCs and wished so much that they could just figure things out already! The ending is beautiful and dreams come true so it's a happily ever after all around.
