Hot, single grumpy daddy that falls for his daughter's teacher/nanny? Hot goalie on the ice? Lessons in the bedroom?
This was a fun ride.

Elizabeth Stone built an empire of lifestyle and food. When she passes and the company goes into her daughter's hands, it seems to be headed toward financial trouble. Jules isn't sure she's up to the task to uphold her mother's legacy and when the opportunity comes to shed light on Elizabeth as a person, Jules discovers she may not have known her mom at all.
I love getting to see the past and what made Elizabeth become the person she was. Even though it night have been hard, I'm glad Jules got to learn about her mom. Mother/daughter relationships always fascinate me and their story is no exception. I felt a whirlwind of emotions through both Elizabeth's story and Jules'.

Liv is taking over her family business of Lunar Love- a person to person matchmaking company but as she's getting ready to take over.... She finds Bennett who is launching an app that is eeriely similar to Lunar Love's concept on matching based on Zodiac signs.
It was cute but it made me feel a little conflicted. What could have been (but did start out as) an enemies (or rivals) to lovers kind of went off the rails as the story that Liv concocts of spying on Bennett, her competition, turns into him knowing her and her intentions beforehand but keeps it hidden. Then they proceed on a bet to see who they can get to fall in love with someone first, but spy on and even interrupt each other's dates.
I did appreciate getting to learn a bit about Chinese Zodiac and getting to see the joys and struggles the characters as mixed race people go through. The romance was so-so and I wasn't exactly rooting for them.... Though it is not bad they get together because it IS a Romcom.

This was a cute book that had a lot of banter, a workplace romance (he's her boss at a new job!) and some very fun texting chains.
It all started when Isabella ordered the same drink as Amy but when Amy didn't answer when her name was called.....Izzy took it because she was late. Then she immediately bumps into Blake and spills it. Then they meet in the elevator of the office building but don't realize they are working together until the next day.
Izzy is such a talker but the things she says are hilarious. Blake is just this power boss, grumpy guy who is totally different around Izzy outside work.

I have never read a Sally book but if they are all this fun...I need to read more!
Vivian gets a blow when she straightens her husband Mitch's sock drawer. He wants a divorce. Vivian is famous in her circle for her Mom Badge channel (I absolutely loved that you could earn a "badge" for pretty much anything and call the badge whatever you felt like!) on YouTube and after a drunken video goes viral, her world is turned upside down.
I LOL'd so much at Mitch and his self-centeredness. He was pretty ridiculous and demanding. He felt that Vivian had to fit into this mold that she didn't want to fit in. Vivian wasn't perfect and made some mistakes, but don't we all?
I loved her friends by her side. I love that all these things that she goes through make her finally SEE her mother in a different light. They had a good relationship but it could have been better. I loved how Vivian jumped in to help the new neighbor Parker and his daughter Cassidy. I loved that Parker gets Vivian to see how wonderful she is and how much more free she is without Mitch.

There is a lot to love about this book but my number one is THE HUSKIE PUPPIES!
Ok so Ivy gets dumped the night before her wedding and so decides to go on her honeymoon trip alone. There she has to explain over and over again why she's there alone.
Zane is filling in for his brother as Ivy's ski instructor and soon starts filling in for Ivy's missing should-have-been husband at all the activities she has planned.
I love how Ivy slowly melts Mr. Grumpy's heart even while hers is broken. I love when Ivy jumps in to help the town and Zane without a thought.
What a great book for the start of the winter season! I read it all in the span of a few hours and I couldn't be happier with my time spent in Winter Heights!

Oh my gosh, this was such a refreshing book full of laughs and the knowledge that you didn't have to figure out exactly what you want out of life at a young age.
Jodi gets the chance to go spend some time with her grandchild in the Berkshires. She expects to be the one to dote on Macellan but she has to share a house (reluctantly ) with her daughter's mother in law, Di. This leads to some wacky situations, a big blowout, and even more surprises you won't expect.
Di was so over the top and I was constantly laughing at her ideas and the way she behaved. I eventually felt for her as some things were revealed near the end. "Grandma Annie" was such an interesting character (given her age) and I was just kind of in love with her.

I should have read this sooner!
A great mystery with two timelines....an apothecary, Nella, in the 1700s who helps with medicinal ailments... And other nefarious things on the side.
In modern times, Caroline has gone on an anniversary trip alone. She joins a group of "mudlarkers" and finds a curious vial. This sets her on a quest to learn all about it.
I loved watching the auto unfold. You have to suspend some disbelief for some parts (the hidden apothecary wasn't ever found in 200 years and a death that might not have been and how it actually didn't 😂 happen) not I still enjoyed it so much.

Rachel and Rubiat are paired up in art school for a project, become lovers and they hope each other is "the one". Then, at a spot Rachel grew up going to, Rubiat jumps at a waterfall and disappears. When he's not found, Rachel is left to wonder if he's alive or not.
This sets Rachel off trying to figure out why Rubiat did what he did through her art and these boxes. She gives another she might love but can't fully commit until she finds out the truth of Rubiat.
There are many complex themes throughout. I wish we had got a big explanation of what really was going through Rubiat's mind at the time of the incident. I felt like the New York suburbs were a great backdrop to this story.

I absolutely adore Aunt Margie and am so glad Jessica wrote her a story. This is a later in life, second chance romance.
Frank moves in as Margie's next door neighbor and let's just say... He's Mr. Christmas to Margie's Grinch (with good reason for them both) and now the shenanigans begin. These two are now rivals and the teasing and the jokes and the banter begins. I think it's ultimately Julia, Frank's granddaughter, who starts to soften Margie towards Frank.
I loved that we got to see the backstory of Margie and Amelia and what led to them becoming a little family of their own, painful though it might be.
The whole scene of the icing/freezing/not normal for that area weather event had me laughing in certain parts but also made me just adore Frank for the help he gives Margie. But, I do have to say also...Julia and Biscuit , the basset hound, are my fav characters 😊
