There is a lot of discussion of unhealthy eating being a large contributor to fatness which in some cases that is true but some people can work out, eat healthy but still have bigger bodies and although this is a memoir about her personal journey I wish she had sort of mentioned that.

This was a blast to the 90s and I enjoyed the storyline with rival casting directors but I think the characters needed a little more emotional depth for me to really love this one.

I just want to live in Kimberly Lemming’s books. I just love them so much. The humor, action, swoony men making the women their priorities, spicy times and just all of it.

Nooo! This is not good this is my 2nd DNF today. Damnit. Okay this book feels like the authors other novel but a different font that is just boring. Sorry.

Oh man I had to DNF this one. Thank you to the AlC program through Libro. fM for a copy to review.

The narrator was just so formal and the voices were just  getting on my nerves so I have to put it down. 😞

I love Annette Chavez Macias and her storytelling. I love how she weaves these complex family dynamics and the way they come together.

One thing I wish that Annette did differently with the book was to not always make the FMCs that have some fat to their bodies always want to hide their bodies or feel they cannot pull these wonderful men. I know that these are real thoughts but sometimes I just want them to love their bodies and not always feel badly.

The premise of this book hooked me in so fast. A commitment phobe FMC and a MMC who wants a soulmate and they find out they are screwing the same woman

There are moments I enjoyed in this book, some of the banter, spice, bisexual and queerness to the FMC. How she doesn’t conform to society norms and is just herself. But I struggled with not seeing more to her. I wanted to understand more about why she functions the way she does and we just do not get that emotional depth with her.

The MMC I struggled with him around the 15% mark there is a situation that happens at work when he loses it on a Female side character who is a woman of color and he fired her for something that if he has listened to her would have never been an issue. This comes up in the book as an issue because she is best friends with Ari the FMC. How that was handled and resolved just left a bad taste in my mouth and I really never liked him after that moment.

The pacing is off with them as a couple or build to a relationship with them and the book really takes until the 70% mark to pick up and get interesting which made it also hard for me

Friends that have ever recommended me this book and never once mentioned that WORMS come into the equation... I am emotionally damaged. I legit about yeeted my phone out the car. I was listening to the audiobook and was so creeped out. That scene has me all kind of messed up.

Okay so I can see the appeal of these big blue aliens and books but damn they need content warnings... maybe it was missing off the audio but dang it was way more intense than I was expecting. I am unsure if I want to continue until I know if there is more worm things... I do not mess with those creepy little things...
