Funny anecdotes and stories written to his son as an explanation for himself as a parent. There are some really sweet and heartfelt moments in the book but also a lot of hilarious phrases that caught me off guard, but in a good way. This is a sweet read for any parent at any stage in the game.
This book was a little out of the norm for what I normally read but it was certainly worth the time invested. Morgenstern has a very lyrical style of writing and was an immense pleasure to read and very easy to get caught up in the story. That being said, it did take me a few tries to get into the rhythm and figure out the pacing and how all the smaller stories intertwined with the main story. All in all, a very engaging read that leaves you wistful for lost underground libraries and the stories that need finding.
This is an insightful look at how we raise and treat boys in today's society. As a boy mom I felt it was important to read this boom and it has given me some great advice on how to raise my son and interact with my husband and other men. Great read.
This was an interesting way to construct a story. It took me a minute to get what he was doing but after that it was easy to follow along. For me, personally, the whole revenge plot was a little weak. Especially the ending but we often see that in revenge stories; a lack of fulfillment after it's all over.
This is a woman's memoir about how she found her way to a new life after addiction, infidelity, divorce, and discovering her sexuality. Glennon provided many insightful looks into what it means to be authentic to yourself and how hard it can be to find, and keep, that authenticity. I didn't always share her thoughts and opinions but I did find some valuable take-aways that reshaped how I think about certain things in my life.
