Butcher's Masquerade was perfect and every book after that has just delighted me with where the story is going. I loved the scene with the title call out. And another character death scene had me ugly crying.

This book is just 👌 chef's kiss. The humor, the heart, the characters, the tension, the stakes, the last battle... It was perfect. The death of one of the characters had me actually crying.

This poet is not for me. The poem he is known for is the only one I liked - From Blossom.
A bit too hard to understand since I haven't read critical essays in a while and have no philosophy training, though I did glean some things. DNF at 24%.

This book is a bit different from Averno. Not much of the mythological figures, this one is almost autobiographical, about the relationships of her family. A lot of bitterness, sadness, and ambivalence about all her family members - at points, I was reminded of Donika Kelly's Bestiary and The Renunciation. The closing poem in particular is one of my all-time favorites (and why I picked this volume up).

I gave up trying to pace myself. Just going to binge this series till I catch up LOL Book 2 definitely feels like it has middle book syndrome compared to this book. This one is sooo good. The scene with Hekla! OMG
