I kept reading this series for Caed and it's satisfying to see that his storyline (and Prae's) is finally resolved. Thank god Drystan is a bit less annoying. That said, I wasn't engaged by the plot.

I enjoyed it but this book was very different from the usual series. Felt a bit like setting up for the last four books. Nothing much happens till the last 30%, and I liked the Subira therapy memory walk part - explains a lot about Jacky and Hasan's relationship - but the book felt a bit off, as other reviewers have mentioned, to the extent that I actually found Jacky, Dirk, and Landon all annoying at different points lmao. Overall, the book felt kinda filler-y. Still good fun and worth reading though.

This book is pure fun, as good as Cradle (if you started from Book 3 LOL). Also found out that Dinniman is a cat lover. That explains so much.

I liked the dungeon crawling/apocalypse a lot - reminded me of The Earth is Online.
