Maybe I should have just reread a macro-econs textbook
informative medium-paced

TLDR to increase your chances of survival in a disaster:
- there is a denial > deliberation > action stage that people will go through when disaster strikes, and denial could be fatal in some disasters
- recognize that you are in denial or delaying evacuation/escape and start looking for ways to escape instead
- having scripts or automatic/ingrained behaviors are very helpful (eg often going down the stairs will make it easier/more automatic to escape via this path when there is a fire, because your body knows how to go about it while on autopilot); even small things like being familiar with the exit or layout will help

Some other interesting nuggets, but most of this is not unfamiliar to anyone who has read about trauma, stress/anxiety, resilience. I felt that there is maybe a bit of a glorification of the military (US soldiers and some IDF soldiers featured in here). But ok, interesting overall. Basically, there is no real way to predict how you might react to a disaster.
