I enjoyed Indigo and Drew’s chemistry, but I’m getting a bit tired of the hand-wringing around dominant women. I wish this series was less rigid in regards to gender roles. I really didn’t like Mercy telling Indigo that Drew was still growing in dominance, as if this somehow made everything fine because he’ll end up more dominant than her.

So cute! Henry and Annora meet in jail and then fall in love on the run, and it’s just as exciting and fun as you can imagine. The characters both have their backs against the wall throughout and they grow so much. I also really loved that we get two fat MCs, as fat MMCs are far too uncommon.

I had assumed this was going to be a Scottish romance and was not expecting it to be about Canadian Highland dancers in Canada. Definitely a unique choice. The characters were also much younger than I was expecting (I would classify this as New Adult). Those things obviously are on me for not reading a blurb before starting the book. My issue with the book itself is that it was overly long. I know KU rewards authors for page count, but this really would have benefited from being trimmed down to novella length.

I really liked these characters and the plot. There were times when I struggled to feel invested, though, and I think this was an audiobook narration issue. It can be a bit tough when it’s two psy characters as Dawe tends to make them a bit flat.

One of my favourite of the series so far. My poor sweet tortured Malkom, I love him so much and he deserves only good things. Cole is brilliant in that she takes a plot that would normally drive me out of my mind (one character lying to the other) and wrote it in a way that never made me dislike Carrow. After hearing all the build-up around Torture Island on the Fated Mates podcast, I was nervous for these books but this plot moves, you never feel bogged down in the misery.

My favourite of the series so far. Aurora and Apollo are so bad-ass, both of them out there fighting the good fight. And then when they’re together it’s so sweet and joyful and caring. Absolutely loved this.
