This is a book I saw on YouTube. When I initially saw it being recommended by other BookTubers, I thought it was going to be this deep and poignant type of read because of their descriptions and the blurb on the back of the book, but I was deceived.

This book basically covers the life of this random 18 year old girl who writes a book describing the things that happen in every teenagers life and...that's it. I'm really happy for her that she got published, but honestly, the only reason I gave this book 1.5 stars is because (1) she mentions Beyoncé AND Solange more than once and I absolutely love both singers and (2) the graphics made me nostalgic for older Carton Network and Nickelodeon shows. Besides these two things, I wasn't really able to connect with the book or understand the characters train of thought. I can't say I'd honestly recommend it to anyone.

This was a good enough book. I liked the usage of Tagalong mythology. I'm not familiar with this cultures gods and goddesses , but I'm more interested in it now that so many were included in the story.

I gave this book 3.5 stars.

The action in the book was plentiful and the characters were diverse. I can tell that Donnelly is going to give readers an unforgettable series with her cast of characters. This book definitely quenched my thirst for a good mermaid read.

Such a hilariously good read. If you like Harry Potter, the mythology in Percy Jackson series, and/or Twilight, you'll totally love this adult spin on werewolves, wizards, and magic. It's a fun and quick read as well.

Not my favorite Lahiri book.

The emotion I got from reading this poem is hard to put into words. I felt as if Cleage took my feelings I keep written across my heart and mind about my iconic black sheroes and placed them into this poem. I recommend that EVERYBODY read this poem.
