Oh my word, I loved this book so much.

Call me old fashioned, but if I make out with my partner’s sibling and they then asked me not to see the sibling anymore, I would respect their wishes without complaint or sneaking around (and then getting mad at them for being mad at me?!)... I just couldn’t stand Bex for about 75% of the book. Other than that, it was a mostly cute and entertaining read.

This book falls between 3.5-4 stars but I rounded up since I love any & all Cassandra Clare books. That being said, this was probably my least favourite of the bunch. First, there are way. too. many. characters. Second, I actually kind of hated the ending. Third, it’s about 100 pages too long. With all that being said, I love the world of Shadowhunters and I love stories set in this era.

I used to think that Harry Potter was the dumbest kid-hero until I met Percy Jackson.

This book is an honest, knowledgeable, and heartbreaking look into how fatphobia has permeated every aspect of life, and how fat people navigate through the world. It's one of the few nonfiction books I read that actually suggests plausible solutions to this problem. I just wish books like this were mandatory reads for all healthcare professionals (and really, for everybody, thin, fat, and everything in between).

I really enjoyed the first 2/3s of this book, but the ending was so disappointing.
