For some reason I pictured Charlie looking like Megan Goode and Dixie looking like Holiday Heart. This book was good but made my head hurt. I got pissed off at Charlie for letting Dixie manipulate her like that. I do plan on reading the next one in this series just to see if Dixie gets hers. What a messy queen!

This is one of the many books I read decades ago as a child that I wanted to reread because I couldn't remember the story. I truly can't believe I couldn't remember this. What a great read...well listen since I listened to it on Overdrive. There were so many heart stopping moments...the moment where the soldiers almost open the casket...when AnnMarie gets stopped by the nazi soldiers as she is on her way to deliver the basket to her uncle. I was so sad at the end when they said Peter had been killed. I can't imagine living in this time. Definitely a book I'll have my daughter read when she is a lot older.

I wanted to love this book more than I did but I couldn't stand the characters except for Little Bee and Charlie. Let's talk about Lawrence...who the hell did he think he was and why was Sarah giving him so much power? He was nothing more than a side piece and for him to bring his loser ass to the house and tell Little Bee to pretty much get her black ass out of the house was too much. I wanted him to go somewhere and have several seats. Sarah was a hot mess. How are you going to bring your side piece in your bed that you shared with your recently dead husband days ago? Andrew's body was barely cold in the ground before Sarah had Lawrence over. And speaking of Andrew, he was a lil punk. These characters were despicable. I really wanted to cry when the book detailed what Little Bee had been through and the death of her sister.Despite me not liking some of the characters it was still a good story and kept me interested until the end.

Eleanor's step daddy wasn't shit. Excuse my french but I'm livid. I'm so upset Park didn't murk him lmao. I found myself getting really pissed at her mother but I had to chill because I've never been in an abusive relationship and I'm sure she felt stuck. I'm still mad at her tho...how can you have someone live with you who is not only abusive to you but your kids? I must know if Eleanor & Park end up back together. What happened to her mom and step father? What about her siblings? Sequel please.

I must add, I HATED HATED HATED the black characters in the book. I thought it was just me being sensitive because I've been told I can be but NOPE. Lots of people feel this way about the black characters and also how the Asian characters were portrayed. I don't know what black people the author hangs around (if any) but these two girls were big old caricatures of the "typical lip smacking neck rolling" black woman. We're more than that. Just saying.

I've always loved Amy Poehler and I love her even more now. She talks about how she got into the biz, her life as a mother, the times she did drugs, and lots more. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll want to hug everyone afterwards.

Heartbreaking. This will make you mad...and extremely sad. My heart goes out to the Lacks Family. Sickening what they did to Henrietta, Elsie and millions more. A black woman's cells are responsible for curing so many things yet her children couldn't afford to go to the doctor most times. Ugh.

I enjoyed this book and I think the baby did too. She even lifted a few flaps. Will definitely read more of the Moomin books.

I enjoyed this book and am thinking about buying my own copy because it is right on time. It felt like I was hearing the voice of a trusted friend girl. Enjoyed the chapters "Setting Standards with a Capital S" and "Goodies Have Power, So Use Them Wisely." We shouldn't have to settle for less. I loved the life lessons that were throughout the book by the author.

I finally finished this and enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what is up with the new group, how Carl enjoys being on the Hilltop and wtf those people wearing zombie masks are doing. I literally jumped out of my skin thinking the walkers could talk. Can't wait to read the next one which hopefully won't take me as long.

Carl needs his ass whooped. Rick can't leave him alone for a few days without him getting into some sh*t! That weird little girl is gonna get him killed.
