This is by far the best book I've read in a long time. Ready to plow into the second one in the series.
It's bed time and little Chicken wants Papa to read a bed time story. Papa attempts to read Chicken three bedtime stories: Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and Chicken Little. Just as each story is about to make a dramatic turn, Chicken interrupts to save the characters from danger! After the third story, Papa is exhausted and has no more stories to tell so he suggests Chicken tell her own. The ending result of Chicken telling her own story is both hilarious and extremely cute. I can't wait to read this to my future child/children.
Also, how can you tell Chicken is a girl? What did I miss? lol

This is an excellent picture book to read to a child who is learning about different animals. The illustrations are colorful and engaging and the short poems that accompany each animal are clever and silly. There are even a few lift and flap pages with animals "hiding" underneath for a fun surprise. Definitely a fun book for both child and parent!
Oh.My.God. I haven't read a book by Carl Weber in a while and now I want to devour everything he has written! This book was full of delicious drama and the church setting made it that much more juicer. After a scandal dealing with their choir director, Bishop T.K. Wilson is on a mission to find a new one for First Jamaica Ministries. Aaron Mackie is that new choir director and man is he a lady's man. He's been given his dream of directing a church choir for a huge church and he is good at it. There is so much going on in this book! If you like twists and turns, drama and are familiar with black church life then you will definitely like this book!
Very cute book but I'm not a parent and even I was worried about Maxwell getting hurt. And what was up with the dad leaving little Max on the beach by himself while he drove off to park the car? Can we say child abduction? Ok...I guess I'm over thinking when it comes to a kids book. Was cute but not my favorite.
I enjoyed this book a lot! I love that the rabbit was in the library and how the book promoted libraries in a cute and fun way. Thank God for the alternate ending! That way more sensitive kids won't be upset.
