I was really looking for an upbeat romcom, instead this is a story about grief and loss which has a secondary romance plot line. I enjoyed the travel aspects of this novel, and the romance element was cute, but overall this wasn’t for me. Please check warnings before reading - in various ways this is not a happy read.

This book follows Marian as she learns to live. To try adventure because she kinda stopped living after her mother died.

But nope. This was freaking SAD. I was an absolute sobbing MESS. If you liked Firefly Lane or In Five Years (which I did) then you will absolutely love this.
While it is super sad, it is also a really great story about finding yourself and living your life to the best of your abilities. It's the epitome of life is too short, so do the damn thing. Watching Marin's development was pretty inspiring, especially for someone (like me) who is usually pretty careful and doesn't like to take risks.
The love interest, Lucas, was so gentle and...perfect. He's the perfect man. Every character felt like a warm hug and a safe place.
This book was beautiful and I'm really glad I ended up reading it, even if it wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

I would have cried, (TW: topics of cancer and death of loved ones) but I wasn’t very attached to these characters. I don’t know why. Something was off. Still a sold binge-worthy Summer read!!
I loved Lucas. He was adorable and definitely a new book boyfriend for sure!! 💛
