I love this series.
I love the Lux series and I love this series so damn much!
I don't really know what to say, JLA always leaves me in a stand of just shock. A good, stunned, happy, overwhelmed state of shock, but a state of shock nonetheless because she creates worlds and characters you instantly fall in love with. Characters who you can't help but hold dear to your heart, hope for, cry for, and want nothing but a HEA for. The same goes for the worlds she builds. Worlds you get lost in, worlds that feel explicitly real.
The Burning Shadow left me in a state of shock, worried for the characters I love so dearly and also proud of the characters. Each one I love and with each book I can't help but fall more and more in love with. Luc (of course, because who wouldn't just love the ever-loving shit out of Luc), Evie, and their group of friends. Daemon, Katy, Dawson, Dee. All of them (I'm so happy to see more of those characters that I originally fall in love with)! I really can't wait for the next book. I mean it, I can't. I might have to find a crossroads demon, sell my soul, or find a way to jump into the future because I NEED IT!

There are no words to describe my love for the Lux Universe.
I love every character. They are all different, have different personalities, different stories but the same core: fighting for their beloved ones.
Same goes for Lucas and Evie (it feels kind of intimate to call him Lucas)
They are an extreme power couple that support and tame each other. Their love is out of this world (see what I did there?) and beyond beautiful.
I’m not ok about Kent tho. I LOVED him. I had to get over Paris and felt like Kent filled his place for me but he was eventually killed too

Jennifer L. Armentrout, como siempre, mi diosa del YA. Incluso cuando después de dos años de volver a retomar este género que me tenía un poco cansada, Jennifer siempre fue mi escritora de cabecera. Ya que si bien sigue la fórmula común del YA, tiene un estilo propio que le da tanto a la historia, los personajes y las relaciones entre los protagonistas que me engancha de principio a fin.
Creí que el primer libro fue genial, pero este... ¡Amar es poco! Aunque tengo un poco de bronca que otra vez tengo que esperar mucho para el tercero.
En fin, el libro se lee prácticamente sólo. La relación entre Evie y Luc es de mis favoritas del género. Adoro cómo se dan espacio entre ellos, cómo construyen su relación de apoco, cómo tienen que pasar cosas concretas para que confien el uno en el otro. Cómo se pelean pero que tienen sus límites y que a pesar de que a veces se pasan, los corrigen y piden disculpas. Creo que es una relación genial para el género que tiene tanta relación tóxica.
Pero no sólo amo su relación, me encanta Evie y Luc por separado. Si bien Luc parece ser que su personalidad y vida van en torno a Evie, y esto puede ser un poco doloroso de ver ya que es por la falta de cariño del personaje mismo ha pasado por toda su vida, tiene una razón de ser y espero que con el próximo libro se desarrolle un poco más su personalidad, apartado de lo que es su relación con Evie.
Pero ella es todo lo opuesto. Ella está enamorada pero su vida no se define por eso solamente, tiene pasatiempos, sueños, ama a su mamá y a sus amigos, y si bien por los momentos complicados de su vida, trata de balancear todo y darles su momento. Evie es dulce pero fuerte, es una persona de la que quisieras ser amiga. Es un personaje tan lindo que incluso lo atrapante que es Luc como personaje, no la ensombrece, porque ella brilla sóla. Lo que genera que se entienda el por qué Luc la ama tanto.
Conclusión: Team Evie ♥

ok didn’t see the twist for evie but damn. lots of drama and fighting - seems like a bigger issue of luc and evie trying to save everyone
