Every recipe of Priya’s we’ve tried is delicious. I initially got this out of the library, but ended up purchasing a copy pretty quickly.
I enjoyed the little blurbs on each recipe as well as the essays from her mom and dad.
The main thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the way the recipes are written. Multiple steps are combined into one step, so a recipe may look like it has only 2 steps, but it really has 7 or 8. Even so, the recipes are delicious and worth that minor frustration.

I rarely review cookbooks, although I've "read" a bunch, but I really love this one. Priya has a great writing voice, and she and her mom offer some great recipes - our favorite are Saag Feta, Potato and Cauliflower Aloo, Tomato Rice with Crispy Cheddar, the Kachumber salads, the two dals, the cilantro chutney, and the Potato and Red Pepper Sabzi. Not all the recipes have worked for us, but that's part of the risk of a cookbook! But I just love the overall concept - and it's made me braver about trying to cook Indian, now that I have a bunch of the spices in my cupboard already.

Just finished marking up this cookbook with post-it’s on the recipes I want to try, and I’ve covered almost every page. The recipes don’t only look delicious and straightforward, but the writing is also full of humor, joy, and family love! Can’t wait to cook everything in here.

Normally I wouldn't put cookbooks on here, but Priya Krishna's writing is so witty and fun that I'm making an exception. Lovely recipes and photos but mostly you will just want to hang out with her family while they make and eat delicious things! Her dad's essay about yogurt is a real classic.

Well, the author and her family are adorable. The family stories are totally charming. And the food looks yummy. But it’s fairly high in dairy and there are enough ingredients I need from Amazon…so this is another book for that magical time of life when I don’t have picky toddlers to feed…
