This book is either you will love it, hate it or interesting. For me in the beginning it was a little slow but once you sit down and read it, it will be alright. I had to really pay attention to what I was reading and really focus. It was a eh/interesting for me. It was interesting to read the Indian names in the book. Also interesting when you read one chapter it is when the Indian character named Good Stab tells his confession to the peacher then the next chapter will be Good Stab story. I was not expecting the ending of this book.

Terrifying, enthralling and really makes you wonder how deep rooted racism is.
Do the victims ever get to tell their stories? Along with everything else, the oppressor also takes away their voice.

"But we were already a nation. We didn't ask you to come."
"I'm the Indian who can't die, I'm the worst dream America ever had."
"You're on Indian land whether you admit it or not. We all are."
Big thanks to Saga Press for the physical book! This book has been on my tbr since the movie Sinners came out and I am so glad I finally had a chance to read it. This story is everything and more, and really exposed the ugly horrors Indigenous tribes faced against colonizers. I loved the descriptive writing and well rounded story telling. I liked the premise that Etsy finds the document surrounding Good Stab, and furthermore a story is told within the story. I loved that aspect of the book so much. I thought the gore, violence, fear, revenge, the vampire with a twist aspect (and its ever lasting effects on how they feed), the historical aspect of the Indigenous tribes effected by colonizers and the Cat Man was written well done and very fleshed out. As I was reading this I was picturing this like a movie. I loved that one of heavy themes in this story was revenge, revenge, revenge and even more revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish and reading about the journey of Good Stab was not only entertaining, but also very refreshing with the vampire lore aspect and the negative implications Good Stab experienced as he fed on his enemies and the effect of Good Stab from past and present and the interconnections of the everlasting effects on enemies descendants.
