The Return of Sherlock Holmes begins with just that, and it doesn’t disappoint! Each short story in the collection was an enjoyable read, and the good nature of the characters continues to inspire and relax.

The Adventure of the Empty House
We're back and the pacing is better than ever! Would've liked to have seen more of Colonel Moran overall though.

The Adventure of the Norwood Builder
The one where Lestrade almost wins. I listened to this while aimlessly on a cort trip with the windy weather and story both giving me chills.

The Adventure of the Dancing Men
The twist in the middle is like an ice bullet to the heart.

The Adventure of the Solitary Cyclist
I worked this one out! Watson's wasted trip is so fucking funny man.

The Adventure of the Priory School
I like these ones where all of the tropes are born, the in-person deductions where the game is afoot.

The Adventure of Black Peter
So far, this is the low-point of this collection, but it's still a cracking story!

The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton
Watson rushing to help Holmes burgle is just glorious, as is the buzz it gives him!

The Adventure of the Six Napoleons
I mean come on. This is the best one for sure

The Adventure of the Three Students
Quaint and lovely. "For once you have fallen low, let us see how high you can rise." Sherlock's quips about Watson jad me guffawinng ("not one of your cases Watson: mental, not physical")

The Adventure of the Golden Pince-Nez
It was hard to take this seriously when Stephen Fry used such outrageous Russian accents

The Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter
Comedy into tragedy. The case is not outstanding but the story is so very memorable.

The Adventure of the Abbey Grange
A great drama. Notice how ACD has to go to extreme lengths to justify the grey area he is operating in, which is the most interesting/alien these books have been for me.

The Adventure of the Second Stain
A somewhat anticlimactic end but a rollocking good time all the same.

Another solid book with a total of 13 Sherlock Holmes stories. I liked some of the stories better than others but overall I love the mystery and the way the characters are described. I also find it really funny and smart that Arthur Conan Doyle writes from the perspective of Watson to negate all plot holes. Because in multiple stories it starts off with saying that because of the nature of the crime details like dates and some names will be changed to protect everyone. It really sucks you into it being real crimes.
