Had higher hopes for this book as I love mark Edward’s books! But found this very annoying and almost didn’t finish

I did not like the main character here. I think some of the aspects that was trying to add suspense and intrigue just came off as annoying. There wasn't really anything to keep me on the edge of my seat or interested. It would have been a DNF but I wanted to see if my guesses from the first few chapters were right and also the cat.

This book gets points for originality as squatter in-laws is not a scenario I'd ever imagined or read about, and it made for compelling reading. I was also interested in the direction in which Edwards took the novel, but all in all it's a pretty formulaic book, which I don't necessarily mean as an insult. I was entertained and it kept me turning pages, but this was a purely popcorn book for me. By that I mean it didn't have much substance, so I'm not likely to remember it in a few months. Not every book needs to be edifying, though, and I think there's plenty of value in books that entertain. I like TV and all, but I do think it would be better if people spent as much time reading purely for entertainment as they do watching reality shows on TV.

When Gemma Robinson saves Elliot Foster’s life it was love at first sight for him . After two months of whirlwind romance they get married and settle down at Elliot’s newly renovated home. Shortly after Gemma’s parents along with her younger sister, Chloe move in with them until they have a place of their own. He soon realizes that they have no intention of moving out and he might have to take extreme measures if he wants to save his marriage .

Mark Edwards has written another gripping fast paced psychological thriller with unexpected twists and turns and an explosive ending that makes it a highly entertaining read . Definitely recommend!

I would like to thank Thomas Mercer & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

This is my first 5* read of the year. It was excellent. I couldn't put it down, the story kept me going all the way through, it was so unpredictable. I couldn't recommend this enough.
The twists were amazing, I didn't expect them.

3.75 ⭐️Another great domestic thriller that had me so mad most of the book. People getting caught in situations with trashy people they can't get out of. This one wasn't AS good as some others I have read. The twist was pretty easy to figure out but it was still fun and got me in the feels
