Here To Stay by Mark Edwards

3.0

This book gets points for originality as squatter in-laws is not a scenario I'd ever imagined or read about, and it made for compelling reading. I was also interested in the direction in which Edwards took the novel, but all in all it's a pretty formulaic book, which I don't necessarily mean as an insult. I was entertained and it kept me turning pages, but this was a purely popcorn book for me. By that I mean it didn't have much substance, so I'm not likely to remember it in a few months. Not every book needs to be edifying, though, and I think there's plenty of value in books that entertain. I like TV and all, but I do think it would be better if people spent as much time reading purely for entertainment as they do watching reality shows on TV.
