I read this for book club and we had an excellent discussion. Reading this made me want to do more research and learn more about Biafra and the civil war in Nigeria because I still have lots of questions. This is the third book I've read by CNA and while I wouldn't classify her work as "easy reading", she has a way of sucking you into the story and really feeling like you know the characters. You keep reading because you care about them and want to know what happens to them.

So well done. I hunger for more and will definitely have to read more of Ms Adichie's works. She wound together such powerful topics while weaving in the interpersonal connections and worlds of the main family. I felt like I was there, which was both good and bad for times. I really can't fault anything in this novel. I'm very impressed.
