Guided Reading Level S
My son got this book for participation in the library's summer reading program. I had planned to avoid (or at least delay) his introduction to this series (he's 6), but he was very excited to choose this book and couldn't put it down.

Funny as usual. I think I should pick up a book from this series whenever I feel down since they are good stress busters. Just loved it!

Quite an amusing read. I've never read any of the diary of a wimpy kids series so it was quite fun to read with one of my students. I'd like to go back and read number one to see how gregory started in the series. However, that being said, I don't love the message of the story. The main character spends most of the book avoiding work and painting a very selfish picture of friendship. In the end he reforms but I wasn't sure if the message was clear enough, at least on the friendship front.
Overall, however, I enjoyed the story and so did my student.
