4.5 stars for After We Collide by Anna Todd. This is book two in the After Series.
“I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.”
Book two picks up right were book one ends. Tessa is devastated by what Hardin did. She thought everything these two felt and had been through was real. She has no idea what to believe and feels absolutely broken.
This series has pulled me in. I can not function right now; it has turned me into a mess. I needed to continue to read to learn what happens between Hardin and Tessa. I feel invested in this relationship. Can Tessa forgive Hardin for what he did to her and to them. I was up in the air about what I wanted to happen between them. I mean How could she forgive what he did, but also how could she put the love she has for him aside. Just ugh! I had no idea how to feel.
This book is different from After because we now get to read from Tessa and Hardin’s POV. I do like that better than just Tessa’s POV.
I am telling you this series is great. You better have a lot of time on your hands because you are not going to want to stop once you start. Oh yeah be prepared for another cliffhanger.

The author has no idea how alcoholism works, or abandonment issues or whatsoever. I wish I had lived a life of privilege like hers. I suffered through two books only to conclude that people who don't squat about something should do some research. As a person who knows first hand all the topics she's writing crap about, I'm amazed anyone would find her prose interesting. It's been torture and to add insult to injury, pretty disrespectful

Now I have to finish the series if for no other reason that my fingers are crossed that Tessa will finally learn that she can stand on her OWN two feet and quit running to the aid of a boy. I NEED her to find her strength.

Yeah-hell no. This was horrible for so many different reasons. So many. The abuse of different natures, the writing, the fact that it's bland as if expecting me to know the ins and outs like a mind reader like details to certain, important parts were basic. This is a prime example of a toxic relationship that verges on an abusive one. He's gaslighted her, thrown her out, shoved her, blamed her for his own mistakes, stalked her, nearly had her uproot her future. That's terrifying. I've read books that are high-key smut and intense, but they haven't crossed this line. This is a dangerous line that is scary. He may be fictional, but Hardin doesn't need a relationship. He needs psychological help. Still, I've heard people say the books get better and I'm not sure if I believe that, but I do hate leaving a series only halfway finished.

P.S. It took so much effort not to edit this entire book myself. Whoever did it did a bad job. This easily could be condensed while extended in certain places by at least 200 pages.

This was one of the most poorly written books I’ve ever read. It was littered with typos and mistakes. And yet I couldn’t stop reading... it was like a bad car accident you just can’t look away from.

✨️Book Review✨️
After We Collided- Anna Todd (688📖) (4th November - 18th November) 5⭐️ 3🌶

My god, I thought the first book was a whirlwind, I was not prepared for the way the second would have a chokehold on me from start to finish. I am obsessed with Hardin and Tessa's story, even if he is a bit of a 🍆. The back and forth is giving me the whiplash from hell, but it's well worth it for this couple. I'm getting some dodgy vibes from a few characters but let's see if my gut instinct is correct... And now it's to After We Fell for the answers!
Would definitely recommend this, especially if you enjoyed the movies as there's so many more detail and slight changes that it's like reading a whole new novel. 688 pages with 123 chapters may sound daunting, but with how short the chapters are and how much they pull you in, you hardly even notice the amount of pages you've read. 100% give it a go💜

“If you aren’t affected somehow, even in the slightest bit, you aren’t reading the right book”

Boy oh boy. If you read the first book, you’ve basically read this one too. I can’t stand the fighting back & fourth. The way we pretend that this is true love & seeing everyone be all “team Hessa for life”. It reminds me of wishing you had a Joker&Harley Quinn type of relationship. Absolutely sickens me.

Like the last book, it’s a quick read. Even being over 600pgs, it’s such an easy read that you blink & it’s over… which is probably the only good thing about this book. The characters tick me off, all of them. & every time I think I can like one, I’m reminded for the millionth time that no one in this book seems to have genuinely good intentions. It kills me.

Honestly, the fact that it is, nonetheless, a decent distraction from my day to day life I would just stop here. But since it’s really my only readily available series, here I am starting book three.

The first book I couldn’t decide how to recommend, I knew I never would but I would never tell someone interested that it wasn’t worth it. But honestly, as a series it is simply too long with too much of the exact same plot every single time. I wouldn’t be able to recommend this to anyone really.

These books are the worst best thing. They’re so addictive and I’M HOOKED, against my better judgement, of course!
