I felt done with this series, so I decided to trade in this title to a used bookstore so that someone else can read it.

This was a solid entry for the series. I found that very little happened in the beginning, but I still enjoyed reading it. I guess I've just come to appreciate the characters and the world so it's fun (or at least interesting) to spend time there. The climax was strange and disconnected from the rest of the book, and although it was intentional it still made the ending feel a bit off. Overall, I liked it and am looking forward to reading the next.

I love Kristen Britain’s writing and this book didn’t disappoint. It’s not my favorite of the series, but still great!

My main complaints are about characters, especially Estora. She whines. All. The. Time. She needs to stop or just get out of Karigan’s way and happiness.

Fergal was infuriating at the beginning, but now I love to hate him (the doofus).

Condor is marvelous as always. If he were a man, my heart would hurt less for my girl Karigan.

Let us all just give a bow to Fastion. If you’ve read all the books, you know what I’m talking about. That guy knows some stuff that he’s not sharing …

Mapquest (it’s what I call her, I know it’s incorrect) needs to take some serious steps back and mind her own freakin’ business. I want to like her, but she gets worse with each book (this one is just the beginning

Does this author just enjoy putting the fabric of the world into peril? I believe answer to that question is yes. If it wasn't enough to make Karigan be taken over by pure evil in the last book she now must save the whole kingdom from utter destruction and save the future queen at the same time. Basically she has to be the ultimate it girl. Wonder woman if you will. This book was very slow. That is probably my only issue with it. I loved getting to dive deeper into the lore and history of this world, but man was the3 pacing slow for me. The author has done such a great job with her world building and making an actual cool interesting world that has me in a grip. On top of saving the world our girl is also learning about her own family history, well the start of it.
