It built up from the last two books, but the climax seemed to peter out a bit without a solid ending. Maybe I'm not used to reading dystopian, but the idea they barely survived the sixers and then just...survive? It felt like the story meant to continue, and I would be interested to see an account of the aftermath.
This is a review of the full series.
I’ve had these books on my shelf for so long that I don’t even remember why I picked them up. I may have read the synopsis, but since I didn’t know (or didn’t remember) a single detail about the series before I began reading, I’m going to assume that I pick them up because of the covers. They’re pretty intriguing. I decided to finally read this series, because I was in one of my random moods, so I picked a random book, and I need to do that more often, because damn, this series…
I loved this series! Overall, the Peryn and End of Days series is a thrilling and imaginative ride, and I was engrossed from the very first page (no lie!). Susan Ee created a world that's strikingly compelling and experiencing it through Penryn’s POV was an addiction I wasn't even trying to quit. I have a suspicion that Susan Ee is more than a little insane, but I love her twisted mind!
Angelfall, World After, and End of Days are in many ways in line with most YA formulas, but there's enough originality to make it fresh and irresistible. The first and last installments were my favorite, with book two still enjoyable, but less engaging for a romance lover.
In Angelfall we’re introduce to a Crazy with a capital C world right after angels from heaven land and cause chaos. The series doesn’t get into much explanation about the original attacks, but the imagery described in just the first few pages of the world the Penryn and her family now inhabit paint a vivid picture of a shell-shocked metropolis. The action is immediate, and from the very beginning I was pulled around on an insane journey with Penryn, the survivor who will do anything for her family, and Raffe, the wingless angel on a mission to get the world back in order.
This series doesn’t sleep. And depending on what you’re interested in, your level of engagement might wane, even though the plot always moves. In case you were wondering, I’m into romance. Book one was a slow burning fire that kept me turning the pages. I love action, violence, and intrigue as well—all of which are included in this series and never wane, but I love romance more. Angelfall gave me everything I wanted.
World After didn’t give me nearly enough romance. I liked most of this entry, but loved the ending more than anything else. World After ultimately did its job by making me want to dive into the final installment to find out what the hell was going to happen to these characters. The series continued to be a crazy, crazy ride, with the level of crazy intensifying with each page turned. I continued to love how original and thrilling this story was, but, Penryn and Raffe were separated for the *majority* of this book, and that was not cool. The last quarter was everything, though.
End of Days was a satisfying conclusion for me. I wonder, though, if hardcore fantasy and paranormal lovers would be satisfied with the ending. I say this because it was a relatively short installment for all the loose ends that needed tying up. I felt the back story was a little weak, but I was invested enough in the two protagonists and seeing their story play out, that I didn't need perfect world building. End of Days was an exhilarating ride and I loved seeing all the captivating characters in full bloom.
Fans of action-packed, emotional, humorous, thrilling, twisted, manic reads will love this series. I can honestly say that there was never a moment when I was bored, even during the times I was frustrated with the emotional progress between Penryn and Raffe's relationship. I'd recommend this series to PNR lovers who've enjoyed Jennifer L. Armentrout or Karen Marie Moning. Susan Ee has grabbed my attention, and I am now a fan. I can't wait to see what her crazy, creative mind cooks up next.
Audiobook notes: I alternated between reading and listening to this series and recommend this as a good listen. A single narrator voices the many characters, and she does a good job translating this story, inflecting snark, humor, and intensity. Her male voices are awkward, but that's to be expected for anyone other than Davina Porter.

This whole series went by so fast, I’m sad it’s over. There were a few things I would have liked a little more closure on, the last few chapters just felt rushed to me, but all in all I loved these books. The characters were great and really captured the brutality of everything they were going through. I loved how this was book about angels but certainly not a book about about God.
A lovely end to an epic series. Violence, suspense, camradierie, a little romance. Worth reading the whole series!
All I can say is Wow!!! a truly worthy end to the series.
I was still a bit upset about book 2 and was hoping book 3 would not go down the same road. So I took my time with book. I was not disappointed at all. I liked how Raffe and Page's relationship grew. I can even give a non spoiler review so I will opt to not say anything except go and read it NOW!!!
the end was just awesome that I couldn't help but be sad that the series is over.

I loved the ending although I didn't think it would be good.
The story was still addicting. It got a little wilder as well but I liked it. I liked being more in the angel side of the world.
I still liked Penryn.I still love Raffe. His character grew more here.I liked the twins as well. I still has no feelings for the mother but I loved the sister.
The ballet scene ♥
