Some really great moments. Also, some attempts to undercut sexism that, in today’s world, still seem pretty sexist. Overall a good read.
Better than the third! Things are moving towards, hopefully, a marvelous, thrilling conclusion!!

I hate the character that I wanted to strangle less, story still good, and characters (other than the one I hate) are awesome.

Another installment, not terrible but the initial novelty is definitely starting to wear off. I realise bow that out of the hundreds of characters there are few that are actually likeable aside from Mandorallen, Silk and Queen Porenn/Queen Layla. Ce’Nedra as a character is particularly mind-numbing and I found the ending of this novel particularly bad. I’m hoping that the last four books spent gallivanting mean the final novel will be able to focus on events.

In many ways this book is a holding volume for the final chapter but it is not short of big reveals, threat and people having to adjust and adapt. While it has a slower pace there's still a lot happening.
I've always really enjoyed this book it's got a warm homey feel to it, the characters all relax a lot in it and it feels in many ways like a book where in the main a few come home even if they didn't know Riva was home.
