Another great read by Alex Michaelides. It lost a star for the third person narrative as I can’t relate or even be a huge fan of any of the characters. The Silent Patjent was the same way, perhaps even worse than The Maidens. I do really enjoy the tie in between the two books and found that fascinating. I hope he continues to do so as new books are written. Regardless of the third person narrative or relating to characters, the suspense had me intrigued and once again, I never saw the ending coming.

I enjoyed the story and it’s premise. Felt lacking in places and needed a little more character development for me. I am used to large fictional stories and this was not one of those. Give it a read if you like short snappy chapters! It’s a easy read.
