This sequel, like its predecessor, was tons of fun! The story was inventive and fast paced with many different things going on, the action was plentiful, and the characters were fantastic! I really enjoyed diving back into this complex magical world and learning more about this unique theory.

While I loved Isaac and all the things he was up to, the choices he made as well as their cost, Lena continued to be the biggest star for me. It was great to see some snippets of her past and view things from her perspective. Despite her beginnings, she is an incredibly powerful character and I truly cannot get enough of her! Guttenberg was also a welcome addition as I find him totally compelling and interesting. I never know what to expect from him!

The villains this time around were dangerous, cruel, and deadly, while still managing to be quite complex. I hope to see more like them in the future. This series is a lot of fun and I'm having a great time reading it!

I'm really loving this series for two reasons: 1) a group of Librarians are the heroines and the Magic system is based on books and readers beliefs in them and 2) it takes place largely in the UP of Michigan.

(Note, not a stand alone book, 2nd in the series. Can be enjoyed on its own, but much, much better if you get the references from #1)

I love the world of the libromancers, truly one of the most unique ideas about magic that I have ever seen. The magic of books, the idea that you can reach in a take something back into our world, provided you can fit it through the physical space of the books. More readers - more magic, so the most beloved paperbacks work the best. And books can be locked if they contain an item of too much power.

So, we get to ride along again with our over-inquisitive hero Issac, who is just a bit of a dork. We get to watch him shepherd a student and navigate this odd three way relationship. Personally, I was most excited to get to explore a lot more of our dryad Lena, not only her present, but her back story. The idea that she is the only character to make it through a book, as she came by a seed is fascinating!
The new cult and Gutenberg's past as well add up to and exciting story. I couldn't put it down!

The sequel was not a disappointment. Looking forward to number three.

I keep reading this series because I really like the concept (using magic to pull items from books!) but the plots leave me wanting.

I enjoyed the first one much more than this; for some reason I found this very hard to follow in places. However, I did like it and will definitely be reading the next installment.

Kept forgetting to read this book, but once I started, I found it hard to stop. The action scenes are exciting and tense, and the overarching plot of the series is sounding like something really bad is coming. I didn't really need the Lena flashbacks scattered through the book... I would have been happy to read them all together somewhere.

The ending was such that I had to immediately purchase the next book in the series. At midnight. Curse you, Hines!
